0 Kingdom of Noise – Bleed – The Hatred Inside

  • February 29, 2016

  • · Bleed

The Hatred Inside is a solid slab of mainstream metal suited for the masses that are content to throw back some brews and headbang until they can’t see straight. Going to far as to tear yourself apart as depicted on the cover is a stretch but the longer you listen the deeper it sinks its teeth in. And truth be told, some of those riffs are pretty fuckin’ killer.

About:

Brandish your weapons and bare your teeth in the battle for new world order with Montreal’s power metal quintet, Demise Of The Crown. They run the gambit from melodic power metal to hard rock weaved together with soaring solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen. The band’s sound has developed from progressive to a heavy metal band that has a pop format structure to the music in order to lure people into the realm of metal. Through many years of playing music with different people in the Montreal scene and slowly forming the official line up in 2014. Each member have spent their time paying dues in the local community and have banded together with the same goal and vision for a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal.

Guitarist, Manuel Iradian writes all the music, then handed off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” (drummer) to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Darren Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death and revenge.

Influenced by headliners like Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, and Faith No More, the band is working their way up the royal blood line to cause chaos right alongside their heroes. They have performed with iconic bands like Hellyeah, Devin Townsend Project, 3 Inches Of Blood, Katatonia and Firewind. The band will be releasing their debut self titled full-length on March 4th, 2016 in all its hectic and melodic glory.

DoC are both engineers and alchemists. They take pounding, grinding noise and turn it into precise, melodic power metal with seemingly no effort. The quintet of bearded Canadian gents write superbly catchy riffs and melodic choruses that pick you up and throw you over the back of their horses as they gallop into battle, guitars raised aloft and hair flowing like a viking in a shampoo ad.

“The Absurd Horror, is technical and relentless, and features a wild variety of harsh vocal techniques and audio experimentation.” – Can This Even Be Called Music

“As is apparent from first listen, …From the Deep employ a certain sophistication, a high level of intelligence amongst the gnashing, fighting, gloriously grotesque atmosphere of their music.” – SputnikMusic.com

“The warp speed black metal tremolo picking to the more down tuned death metal chugging riffs, to the skull pounding bass and the ever blasting drums make ‘The Absurd Horror’ sickeningly addictive.” – CadaverGarden.Wordpress.com

“The vocalist appeared just behind, next or in front of me while he performed his varied and highly passionate extreme metal vocals. This dynamical and vivid approach attracted more and more people from the bar and the terrace to see the opening band performing an intense thirty-minute long set.” – Kluseba.eklablog.com

Emerging from the frightening expanse is an atmospheric force called …From The Deep whose ever changing style keeps fans of metal on their toes. Each album has a continuous story flowing from one to the next while thematically focused on the insignificance existence when faced with the vast intricacies of the universe, esoteric literature, consciousness, and the exhaustion of modern life. The band has an inclination for the absurd and deeply disturbing in terms of instrumentals and lyrics.

Nearly all the members have gotten their sea legs in the Ottawa scene. Vocally, Graham Cwinn is an intimidating force bellowing from hell while Jacob Sparling and Mike Birch tear their guitars to shreds with the utmost precision. Dave Solomon sounds like a thunderous force rumbling within each song as he slams his bass. The final element that weaves together the band’s sound is Nicholas Kaminski on drums who dominates the pace for the music and acts as an conductor demanding attention and obedience, musically.

Each opus swells like the tide with a natural yet rhythmic rise and fall making the tension in each song more visceral and the release more satisfying. Musically, the band is as unpredictable as the changes in the sea by straddling between nefarious black metal and downtrodden thrash. Vocally, the band is a tortured soul twisted by the waves and swept to sea crying out for rescue.

…From The Deep released their most terrifying piece to date ‘The Absurd Horror’ (July 2015), which is available on Bandcamp at https://fromthedeepband.bandcamp.com/. Featuring epics written about Greek myths and human survival, this is one band that will leave you with the feeling of being hopelessly lost on an unrelenting ocean, clinging to life.

Music Video – Save Me – Watch here.

Edmonton, AB’s VAN HALST is a fierce, empowering force of hard rock fused with metal.  A project, which began as a solo artist for whom the band is named after — Kami Van Halst, has since become a full group producing socially conscious, lyrical tracks that focus on disenfranchised and marginalized populations. Their forthcoming 2016 album ‘World of Make Believe’ is set for release on March 4th and before its release VAN HALST have teamed up for the full album stream premiere on Idobi Radio, which can be heard at the following link below.
Vocalist Kami Van Halst comments about the track:
“World of Make Believe contains ten songs that speak to a variety of social justice issues such as poverty, youth homelessness, religion, domestic violence and feminism. I strongly believe that musicians and other public figures have a responsibility to try and create positive social change through their art and their voice: World of Make Believe is our contribution. We want this album to make people think about systemic issues in a different way and motivate them to create positive change through activism.”

More about Van Halst:
The band’s influences stay true to goth rock, Kami Van Halst demonstrates an agile vocal delivery in combination with pummeling growls. Lyrically, the band draws from black metal due to its focus on people suffering from isolation and rising to overcome the preconceptions of a judgemental society. In This Moment’s industrial fusion remains a primary influence for Van Halst, employing a sampler, synthesizer, and distorted vocals.
Kami Van Halst dominates as the vocalist performing both growls and soaring vocals (Surviving Suzanne), Scott Greene (Derina Harvey Band/Dirty Pool) and Strathon J. Bajowsky (Havok Way) craft the guitar work while Brendan McMillan (bass) (My Darkest Days) and Brett Seaton (drums) (Cultured by Fire) drive the rhythm section of the band. Kami’s range and virtuosic vocal ability always captivates an audience and her attitude on stage truly delivers the meaning behind the songs. The main writing forces for the band are Kami and Scott working together to give listeners a vivid image of social injustices. The band’s live performance is a theatric experience as the utilize full-costumes, make-up and stage props.
