The thing about Sludgehammer musically is they take so many different styles and mesh them together into this sound that encapsulates traditional, thrash, modern, death, and progressive metal, while creating something unique yet familiar. The excellent guitar work with hooky riffs and blazing solos matched with the heaviness and intensity was greatly appealing.

The main trademarks of Sludgehammer source of the dynamic vocal performances from lead vocalist Chris Szarota and bassist Dan Ayers, along with a showcase of mind bending guitar solos, heavy riffs and a blistering drumming fury. If you watch the in-studio footage you can sometimes hardly trust your eyes what these guys are able to perform on their instruments.

Grotesque Ceremonium was formed in 2014 in Ankara (Turkey) as one man unholy old school death metal band influenced by early 90’s dark, putrid evil. 2014’s debut EP ‘Blasphemous Goat Observance’ was a self-released tape, later unleashed by Mexican label American Line Prods as 100 limited edition copies. Main influences of the band are early Incantation, Autopsy & Winter.
“Demonic Inquisition” is a concept album about medieval dark times and inquisitions during the middle ages where all punishment methods were performed by demons and Baphomets evil army against all believers of God. Lyrical themes touch upon witchcraft, demonic punishments and tortures in the depths of hell and the satanic temple of Baphomet. Rhine is a progressive death metal band from Seattle. And indeed this one is for the true metalheads among the DPRP readers….An Outsider is overall a good album for the readers that enjoy heavy/death metal, especially the ones who like Opeth. Rhine also plays mellow music but you really have to like the very heavy stuff to be able to live with the grunting.
It’s a toxic mix of hard rock and heavy metal, with a dash of death metal blended together until liquefied – bottled by the Grim Reaper himself. Get your favorite wine goblet, pour a glass of Black Absinthe, and repeat as needed.

Mouichido might only be a brief four songs and nineteen minutes long but, by the end of it, the Canadian death metal wrecking machine have left you in no doubt as to what they’re about.

Right from the beginning you feel the weight and the immensity of Mouichido and one listen just doesn’t do it justice. This is a re-release of previously recorded material with a new vocalist and even so, Without Mercy comes out swinging again and knocks it clear out of the park.
