Streaming Now! KING OV WYRMS Sends Out Tendrils Of Black Metal Worldwide With Album “The Womb Ov Borealis”

L-R – Michael Oneirous Sanchez – Vocals, Guitars, Bass (Studio) – Ricky Williams – Drums

Arizona, USA’s King Ov Wyrms is beyond excited to finally release their album “The Womb Ov Borealis” and over the last several months have almost been chomping at the bit to keep their work contained for “the big reveal”. This album has been in production for almost three years starting just with Oneirous conjuring the material and then going through an almost complete overhaul with the inclusion of Ricky Williams into the mix and the very gracious session work performances by Derrek Page. It was a key point for this album to almost break away and push the trio into a new path of enlightenment. Oneirous comments on the release of “Womb Ov Borealis”:

“This album is almost like the first “real” King album, “Lord Of Thornes” was really just me finding an outlet to worship the metal I grew up with which led to a lot of people wanting the songs to be more “original”. Ultimately this is the culmination of that drive to fill that want, this is the first “real” King album delivering a new approach to how we present ourselves and our music. This album will definitely open us up to a whole new fan base and I feel our original fans will be even more happy to hear what we have developed over the years and what they will surely see more of in the future.”

On “Womb Ov Borealis” the tracks flowed in naturally for the most part. Oneirious had the songs started since the release of “Lord Ov Thornes” with the intent to not make another “tribute” album and try to do something more original. Once Ricky was added into the mix the songs took on a new life of their own and really solidified the idea of making a new original album and lineup for King Ov Wyrms. At the moment the band is already considering the writing process of album No. 3 and as long as there is a want for more we will gladly continue.

King Ov Wyrms originally started out as a more aggressive project for Michael Oneirous Sanchez from his main progressive metal band Pain Patterns. The new album is recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Dark Funeral, and Goatwhore.

King Ov Wyrms’ sophomore album “The Womb Ov Borealis” is due out on Friday, October 6, 2023, and is available for pre-order at https://kingovwyrms.bandcamp.com.

“Lyrically, the song (To March From Darkness) narrates a hellish war on heaven, with a satanic horde bent on bringing fire and slaughter to the angelic host. Not surprisingly, there’s abundant fire and fury in the music as well. As the drums hammer the listener’s head the riffing blares and blazes in livid pulsating tones, and roils and drills in displays of cruel violence, while the vocals utter the enraged words in monstrous guttural tones and strangled snarls and screams, and wild quivering leads channel derangement. The music also brings in filaments of eerie melody that add a supernatural atmosphere, jolting body-blows, electrifying drum progressions, and a guitar solo that’s maniacally spectacular but also transforms into an expression of agony. Moreover, all the song’s changing motifs have the capacity to get stuck in the head.” – No Clean Singing

“an interesting evolution in their sound. Fans of experimental black metal should definitely give it a listen.” – Amplified Magazin

Rockshots Records – Singapore’s NOPROPHECY Introduce “Ghost Of Yesterday” Off Debut Album “As The Bridge Collapses” Out Nov 2023

Established in 2013 by Alveria Sykes, Singapore’s NOPROPHECY has emerged as a formidable force in modern metal. The band’s inception was fueled by a collective passion for music and a desire to unite their musical abilities in a band setting. Each member looked up to revered musicians, aspiring to bring their own unique touch to the musical landscape.

During its formative years, NOPROPHECY saw a rotation of musicians, but by the release of “After Life Comes EP” in 2016, the band had solidified its lineup, setting the stage for what would become a promising musical journey.

Describing their sound in five words – Aggressive, Melodic, Intense, Groove, and Dynamic – NOPROPHECY has consistently pushed boundaries, showcasing their signature blend of fierce intensity and melodic artistry.

“Ghost of Yesterday” embraces an unorthodox intro leading into a catchy, pop-infused chorus, presenting a commercial appeal designed for easy sing-alongs. The track maintains a steady pace, contributing to the album’s overall momentum. While it holds its unique meaning, “Ghost of Yesterday” encourages diverse interpretations.”

NOPROPHECY anticipates that its upcoming album will captivate fans with its versatility. Promising a multifaceted experience, the album will delve into the band’s signature melodic style while exploring various stylistic shifts across metal genres. The band believes this approach will provide listeners with a dynamic and engaging musical journey, enabling them to connect with each track on a personal level.

Cabrakaän’s Mexican Infused Metal Burns Bright With “Fuego”

New Album “Aztlán” Out November 17th, 2023

Originally hailing from Mexico, metallers Cabrakaän now call Calgary, Canada home. In their signature sound, they take folklore from their homeland and wrap it up into a heavy and intriguing package that will catch the ears of metalheads everywhere. This year they are releasing an album “Aztlán”, a thematic album centered on the Spanish conquest – colonization and the defeat of Mexico’s Aztec empire, Tenochtitlán. The second single off this album is “Fuego”, a story about premonitions and nightmares that were experienced by Aztec people about the Spanish conquest. The band explains more:

“It is based on the “First Bad Omen” of 7 that happened in the decade before the Spaniards’ arrival in 1521. In this omen, there was a fire that burned in the sky every night for a year, shaped in a way that made the sky look like it was bleeding. Musically, it is hard-hitting, melancholic, dark, and energetic all at once.”

In a fusion of fast-paced melodies, enchanting harmonies, and heavy-hitting rhythms, “Fuego” (The Fire) is based on the recorded history of seven bad omens that Aztecs believed were warning them about the future conquest.

Marko Cipäktli and Pat Cuikani developed Cabrakaän’s initial concept to create music that reflected and reinforced their cultural roots. Over time, they developed a sound based on their shared musical interests: death metal, classical music and opera, and traditional Mexican music, with a strong desire to express and share their country’s folklore through heavy music. In the past, Cipäktli and Cuikani’s lyrics have engaged with Aztec and Mayan mythology. Lyrics from their upcoming album will engage with a mix of themes related to the Spanish conquest and mythological concepts like Mictlan, an Aztec concept of the underworld. “Aztlán” is recommended for fans of Eluveitie, Nightwish, and Amon Amarth.

“In the world of metal music, where genres often blend and boundaries are pushed, there emerges a band that beautifully merges traditional folk elements with the raw power of heavy metal. Enter Cabrakaän, a Mexican folk metal band on a mission to reconnect with their ancestral roots and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Mexico.” – Infrared Magazine

“CABRAKAÄN has released an amazing, fun, well-written album with influences from various folk styles aligned with Death Metal. It’s definitely one of the best releases of the year in the style and the band deserves all the attention they are getting from the media and the public. 10/10” – Metal Temple (review 2019 – Cem Anahuac My Home)

“While the band may celebrate cultures that are unknown to most Canadian metal fans, Cipäktli says live performances by Cabrakaan are an immersive experience. The band, who wear face paint and costumes to conjure up the “time of the Aztecs,” like to give audiences both a visual and sonic feast.”

-Calgary Herald: “Symphonic Metal Band Cabrakaän Brings Spirit Of Ancient Mexico To Calgary”

“The use of traditional, lesser-known instruments that rarely leave Central/South America jamming along with metal instruments – in a way that would make Ozzy Osbourne in his prime proud – is the last thing Calgary expected to experience, and yet Cabrakaän is here.”

– Calgary Journal: “Cabrakaän, Calgary’s friendly neighbourhood Mexican folk metal fusion band”

What the press is saying:

“Located an hour and a half east of Calgary is the town of Drumheller, Alberta. With a population in the neighborhood of 8000 and existing smack dab in the middle of Canada’s desert and dinosaur country, it’s not a place one would immediately associate with any sort of metal scene, let alone a big-ass outdoor metal fest. But that’s where you’d be wrong. Going into its 11th year, the Loud as Hell Festival is set to roll on August 4-6th with the likes of Narcotic Wasteland, Jungle Rot and Incite headlining three days of metallic fun featuring 40 or so bands, including The Convalesence, Gorgatron, Necronomicon, Untimely Demise, Eyes of Perdition and more.” – Decibel Magazine

“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.” – CBC Calgary

“What’s more metal than the badlands? Drumheller, AB, is known for being the dinosaur capital of the world — but it’s also the home of the Loud as Hell festival, an event celebrating none other than the loudest music known to man (and, by proxy, prehistoric reptile).” – Exclaim!

“Loud as Hell – one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals – was a metal family reunion. If you walked around the grounds, where tents covered the landscape like flowers, you would experience concert goers laughing, hugging and just enjoying the moment. The music played non-stop and the people were some of the best you’ll meet. What else do you need? If you’re a metalhead fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.” – Blackfalds Life

“Headbanger alert: Loud As Hell festival to ramp up the volume” – Calgary Herald

“Nevermind the bug spray and sun tan lotion, as August approaches Drumheller residents should stock up on earplugs.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud As Hell returns to the southern Alberta city for its seventh year and as its name implies, will rock the city to its core.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud as Hell has celebrated eight years in the Badlands to date, with acts from all over the world-shattering the peace and quiet of the hills in a camping and music extravaganza.” – Hanna Herald

“Drumheller with its dinosaur bones is the site of the annual Loud as Hell heavy metal festival Friday through Sunday. Dozens of the heaviest bands known to Man will be taking the stage, many of them Canadian” – Gig City

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 2, 2023

Rockshots Records – Italy’s LAST IN TIME Show You “The Way To Rock” Off New Album “Too Late” Out Jan 2024

Italy’s Last In Time announces its collaboration with Rockshots Records for the release of its debut album, “Too Late”.

Last In Time represents a fresh foray into melodic progressive and classic rock with strong AOR influences to create a one-of-a-kind and captivating musical experience.

“Finally, the long-awaited moment has arrived! We couldn’t be happier to present our debut album ‘Too Late’ to the world, in collaboration with Rockshots Records, of which we are genuinely proud to be a part” affirms Massimo Marchetti, the mastermind behind Last In Time.

“From the very first listen, it’s evident that this band aims to present itself with a level of maturity and confidence in its sound. We will do everything possible to earn the respect of fans with this record and our upcoming live performances. This album is a personal challenge, primarily to ourselves, and secondly to the conventions of music classification.” he adds.

The album “Too Late” is a journey, bringing together various musical influences. It’s a rock album that smoothly combines the melodious elements of AOR inspired by bands like Toto, Survivor, and Giant, the power of hard rock and metal, and a nod to 90s progressive rock.

Today the band shares their debut single, “The Way To Rock”, which Massimo Marchetti, explains in further detail:

“In the lyrics of this song, I basically tell the story of what drove me to play music and what emotions led me on my musical journey. When I was a guitar teacher, I was struck by an image. My students who were preparing for a concert had incredible enthusiasm. They reminded me of what inspired me to play and what music meant to me. They unknowingly inspired me to write this song.

Listen to “The Way To Rock” at the following links:

Lyric Video – https://youtu.be/1Ih6U0nXGs4

Digital – https://bfan.link/the-way-to-rock

Last in Time is a project that was formed in 2021 as a studio band, with the goal of recording original songs in the Progressive and Classic Rock/AOR genre. Leading the project is Massimo Marchetti, the songwriter, producer, and arranger of the group’s songs.

The project has a diverse lineup, as it was managed as an All-star band, in order to ensure that each song had the right artistic touch. In fact, the ability to have multiple voices, including a female voice, greatly expanded the compositional proposal of the songs, allowing for a range of genres and nuances.

However, the group’s sound, while diverse, remains anchored to a common thread, which is a passion for Classic Rock in its various forms.

The presence of experienced and motivated musicians made the album recording process a wonderful journey, which will continue with live sessions and the start of a true project focused on recording more albums in the future.

Recommended for fans of Toto, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Symphony X, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and Savatage, Last In Time‘s debut album “Too Late” will be released on January 12, 2024.
