Out now! as of Friday, April 2nd, Rockshots Records is excited to release France’s AVALAND‘s symphonic and operatic metal adventure “Theater of Sorcery” featuring guests Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Zak Stevens (Savatage/TSO), Zaher Zorgati (Myrath), Emmanuelson (Rising Steel), Stéphan Forté (Adagio), Madie (Nightmare) among many other great musicians.

In celebration of the full length’s unveiling, AVALAND is sharing their new music video for “Holy Kingdom Of Fools” featuring Jeff Kanji, which can be viewed via Rockshots Records YouTube Channel – https://youtu.be/XA3hfNSEoVQ

Gzagg adds about the track:

“A big allusion to Tobias Sammet and Edguy’s spirit (cf. “King Of Fools”)! In this song, with the incredible Jeff Kanji, I would like to criticize the kind of people who follow the fashions just because it’s fashion, the “sheeps” who make choices just because the others make those choices. In the story, Jacob, Adam’s best friend, is attracted by this “perfect” world where everybody leaves in peace but Adam feels bad about this kind of dictatorial land. I’d like to see it as a heroic-fantasy version of 1984 (George Orwell).

Inspired by heroic fantasy, history, mythologies, and esoterism, AVALAND band founder Adrien G. Gzagg decided to create the epic story album “Theater of Sorcery” with eight characters. The debut is a theatrical metal world that tells the story of a young sorcerer Adam Wilstorm who could be the salvation of bringing back the light to the kingdom of Avaland and during his journey, he must learn to control his powers linked to the Storm.

“This album was a long and tiring, but incredible experience. We could record in a good mood and we were well surrounded by amazing people. Despite of our youth, we could approach a professional atmosphere during studio time. We all surpassed ourselves and we are very proud of the result. We are impatient to share “Theater Of Sorcery” to the world and very honored to sign with Rockshots for our very first album.” adds band founder and mastermind Adrien G. Gzagg.

The debut album “Theater of Sorcery” is now available as of April 2, 2021.

0 Canada’s Dyatlove Embrace Evolution And Growth With New Single “The Chrysalis”, Track Premiere via New Noise Magazine

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 1, 2021

Canada’s Dyatlove Embrace Evolution And Growth With New Single “The Chrysalis”

Track Premiere via New Noise Magazine

Dyatlove, from Vancouver, Canada have a fresh new single out to weave into ears everywhere. The quartet of Sam Caviglia (vocals/guitar), Rikki Jennings-Buford (guitar), Justin Lacey (bass) and Rob Sheldrick (drums) are joined by Scott Whalen (Imonolith/Ugly Men/Latenite Automatic) who picks up guest vocals and adds a crushing layer to “The Chrysalis”.

Written near the end of 2019, the single speaks of evolving as a person, the personal growth we all hope to achieve. After sitting on it for quite some time, Dyatlove feels this is the time to unleash it. As they continue to explain:

“We decided to record it and put it out to keep things moving during the dreaded 2020 experience. There was the need to keep productive and have something to work towards as everything was shut down here in British Columbia. Sam is really proud of these lyrics and as a band we are proud of how this song came together. We were able to work with our longtime friend Royce Whittaker on this song and he really helped us out with the little nuances. It was amazing to have him join us for this track, along with another of our friends Scott Whalen who added some devastating vocals!”

Dyatlove coin their sound as “emo sludge” and it is chock full of raw emotion, meandering clean vocals and slow, somber riffs brushed against a heavy wall of pounding drums edged with flecks of hardcore elements. Thus far, they have released a self-titled EP (2020) and a stand-alone single “DIE, KILL, PIG” (2020). They will be recording another EP this year.

Recommended for fans of Deafheaven, Converge, and Russian Circles, “The Chrysalis” can be heard via its streaming premiere on New Noise Magazine HERE.

“The Chrysalis” will be officially available on all digital platforms April 2, 2021.

About:
Dyatlove is a rock band from Vancouver, BC whose austere music stems from a place of deep emotion, expressing the language of the self laid bare. Its 4 members – Sam (vocals/guitar), Rikki (guitar), Justin (bass) and Rob (drums) – create raw, passionate, and at times gut-wrenching musical offerings.

Though a newly-formed group, the band’s collective musical memory is long and their backgrounds are aesthetically diverse. Drawing inspiration and experience from the genres of hardcore, punk, emo, hip-hop and electronic music, Dyatlove seeks a sound that overwhelms sonically. They push their melodies as far as they can go, creating an emotional fallout that forces its listener to reckon with the intricacies and instabilities of being human.

“We want to give everything we have to our fans,” they express, “and we want them to understand that we get what they are going through, and are there for them through our music.”

Through music, Dyatlove finds a connection, and through connection, their musical community grows. Acclaimed producer Matt Roach – of Rain City Records – has contributed significant expertise in engineering their self-produced debut album, while indie label Coup Sur Coup has signed Dyatlove for a cassette release deal. With each show they play, their momentum grows:

“Whether small intimate gigs or festivals, just playing for the live crowd is what we dream about,” the members explain as they build to their goal of an extensive tour.”

The heavy, overflowing sound of Dyatlove’s storytelling style is for everyone – it is authentic art that shapes its audience slowly, earnestly and rather forcefully. It is classic in form and radical in content: whether heard in digital or analog, studio-produced or live, Dyatlove is a unique and essential listening experience.

“Their sound is eclectic and diverse, at times morose and at other, heavy sludge. An EP that requires attention to take in, each song takes the listener on a ride with complex lyrical content aiming to grab attention.” – Frontview Magazine

“The band’s music isn’t the kind of extreme metal we usually cover at this site, but I’d say they’re “adjacent” — and there’s an explosive emotional fury in the song and video we’re presenting today that’s so cathartic (and so demolishing) that it’s more than welcome here.” – No Clean Singing.

“DYATLOVE conveys emotion and brings the heavy with an impressive, eclectic EP” – IDIOTEQ

“The track (Empty Lungs) is amazing and the band will quickly make you a fan if you like groups like Converge, Deafheaven, or Spotlights.” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“Their sound is eclectic and diverse, at times morose and others bone crunchingly heavy. ” – The Sludgelord

“This is a collection of songs about love of family, songs about loss, songs about anger and songs about struggles and addictions all wrapped up in the confines of half an hour’s worth of music…” – Metal Noise

“for those who love  Deafheaven, Converge, Russian Circles, Touche Amore, Alcest, Pallbearer… A beautiful discovery.” – Mad-Breizh

0 IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Unveils Video for Title Track of New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 1, 2021

For fans of  Iron Maiden, Helloween, Symphony X, Kamelot, Marty Friedman, Dragonforce

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Unveils Video for Title Track of New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’

Extreme Progressive/Power Metal Group’s Acclaimed New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’ Out Now via M-Theory Audio

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)

The extreme progressive/power metal group IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has unveiled a video for “Psychosomatic”, the title track of their acclaimed new concept album that was inspired by and recorded during the coronavirus pandemic. The clip can be viewed at https://youtu.be/YCdxPLR275A.

“One thing we started noticing early on at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 was the overwhelming number of friends that were getting sick only to find out they tested negative and never had the virus. Us included! There were so many moments where we were so convinced that we had covid because we felt all the symptoms and totally freaked ourselves out even though we never left our house. Just to take a test and find out we didn’t have it and even feel the symptoms disappear after 24hrs. This was happening to so many people I know and we thought it would be a very interesting topic to write about,” explains Gabriel Guardian. “This is not to take away from the seriousness of the virus and the harm it has actually done to some of our other friends and family. It’s been a very rough year for all of us… But if there was something, we noticed that did affect the majority, it was the big amounts of fear and confusion that literally made us all feel sick just from living through the experience. Our silent pandemic is psychosomatic.”

“Psychosomatic” is the latest in a series of creative videos that IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has released in recent weeks. Last month, the group unveiled a clip for “Phobia”, which featured a guest appearance by Angra guitarist Marcelo Barbosa. Previously, their videos for “Clocks,” “Lockdown” and “Read Between The Lines” earned praise from the likes of MetalSucks, Metal Injection, and Gear Gods.

After making a splash via their 2018 full-length debut “Age of Revolution” – which featured its own fair share of creative music videos, including the “Armageddon”-meets-telenovela “Stardust” – and through tours with the likes of Marty Friedman, Exmortus, and Powerglove, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2020 to record their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, shutdowns around the world began being enforced, resulting in the band completely scrapping the record that they had been working on and writing and creating a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events. The resulting “Psychosomatic” was a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian – known for his uncanny ability to play the two instruments simultaneously – remaining in Las Vegas, singer Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, drummer Justin Piedimonte tracking from Montreal, and bassist Joshua Lopez recording from IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s native Texas.

“Psychosomatic” is a product of the extraordinary turmoil of 2020 that affected millions of people around the world, as well as the next step in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s exhilarating melding of melodic power metal with progressive/shred tendencies. CD and limited-edition purple vinyl editions of “Psychosomatic” are available now at www.smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

“The musicianship is top-tier and the group’s compositional ability is unheard of for a band this young. [Guitarist} Gabriel Guardian is a new American hero.” – Decibel

“Melody and Power, two things displayed in a smashing way throughout this album. If Immortal Guardian isn’t already on your playlist, I think they should be. 10/10 – Metal-Temple.com

“A mega-catchy prog-power anthem (Read Between The Lines) mixed with a blend of crushing performances that’ll leave you salivating for more.” – Metal Injection

“Psychosomatic, an album that will likely be viewed as one of 2021’s best releases, and a landmark record forImmortal Guardian. ” – Metal Nation

““Psychosomatic” is a super catchy (Prog) Power Metal album” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“With this album (Psychosomatic) Immortal Guardian should no longer be seen as a promising band. Not only have they shown that they have an enormous compositional quality and an elite technical level, they have also shown that they are a band that faces difficulties and that they have all the will to continue. Making a high-quality second album two years after their dazzling debut tells us about the enormous inner power these musicians have.” – Metal Rules

““QUARAN-TAAAAAYN!” No matter what you think about Immortal Guardian, it’s refreshing to hear a band that plays their style while confronting modern life. Though there’s a lot of big, epic, technical stuff going on on Psychosomatic, it never devolves into a lot of bullshit about chivalry and orcs. As such, they feel poised to be the inheritors of Nevermore’s throne, a gritty power metal band who feel relevant even as they soar. Get this in your brain.” – The Pit
