Remain In Stasis is a deeply personal rock record that winds its way through feelings of depression, introspection and eventually, triumph. It should be high on the list of anyone who’s enjoyed doom metal’s rise into the indie spotlight.

Fans of progressive acts in particular, like Anathema, Katatonia, Opeth and Tool, will find much to appreciate in Durkee’s vocal and guitar melodies. The shuddering beat of “A Way to Escape” brings to mind A Perfect Circle, as well as prog-master Steven Wilson.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 17, 2019

For fans of Epica, Nightwish, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody

Enter The Vast Fantasy Realm of Spain’s NORWALD With FREE Download of “Khelmet and Hakko” via PureGrainAudio

+ New Singles “Creatures” & “Arden”

Explore the rich lore that has been created through these stories and feel the magic of this imaginative new world, with its own characters, gods and creatures. Norwald brings you magical lands and magnificent warriors; mythical creatures, life, and death, in the form of power metal songs.

To acquaint the world of Norwald, they have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for the exclusive FREE download of their track “Khelmet and Hakko” that will be showcased on their upcoming concept album due out later in 2019.

Check out the song at https://puregrainaudio.com/audio/norwald-khelmet-and-hakko-free-song-download

In addition, NORWALD‘s first two singles, ‘Creatures’ and ‘Arden’ can also be heard below.

‘Creatures’ regales listeners with the tale of Prince Thostar who is on a quest for the throne. It’s a fast and simple song to introduce both the band and world of Norwald.

‘Arden’ is a bonus tale, not directly related to the rest of the story told. It is fun and dancey, but with a cold vibe.

With influences such as Nightwish, Rhapsody, and Epica, Norwald is just as enchanting as the tale it tells. As to what their debut album brings, composer Grief explains her purpose:

“The album is, as a whole, an epic tale that goes through a lot of phases, to finish in an epic song that Norwald people would sing in their taverns. To end the whole thing and to make people want to listen to more of our stories, we play Arden, which is a short tale not related to the tale told in the rest of the album.”

‘Creatures’ is available on YouTube.

‘Arden’ is also available on Youtube.

BIO:

Norwald is both the band name and a vast fantasy world that was imagined in the mind of Patri Grief many years ago and has now been brought to fruition to indulge listeners everywhere. Grief’s fascination for storytelling and music began at a young age: she dreamed up a world where her imagination could take flight and ultimately bring her stories to life through music.

With immense imagination, Norwald plunges the listener into a brand new fantasy world. Incorporating made up words and characters set in a medieval era, Norwald is putting a whole new spin on epic power metal. Well written songs, each as a metaphor with its own personality, Norwald is charging in to the spotlight with poetic symphonic magic.

Over the years, members came and left the band and it wasn’t until 2017 when there was enough suitable talent for the band to take off. The lineup now consists of Ann Meseguer (vocals); Patri Grief (composer/lead guitar); Alejandro Leonidas (rhythm guitar); Jeffrey García (bass) and Frehul Martínez (keys).

Montreal, QC – January 17, 2019

Rockshots Records: Christian Power Prog S91 Reveal Artwork + Track Listing For New Album Out March 2019

New “Along The Sacred Path” Out March 22, 2019

Italian Christian power prog metal band S91 will be unleashing their sophomore album “Along The Sacred Path” on March 22, 2019, via Rockshots Records and are excited to share with fans the release’s track listing plus artwork by Gustavo Sazes. The album follows their 2016 debut full length “Behold The Mankind”, which was a concept release about the history of humanity from the point of view of Christian theology. That album was produced by Cristiano Bertocchi (Labyrinth, Vision Divine, Wind Rose) with mastering done by Simone Mularoni (Domination Studios). Received well by critics and audiences, the debut opened doors for the band to tour across Italy and abroad, including a performance at the latest edition of “Elements Of Rock” (Switzerland), the largest Christian metal festival in Europe.

The band explains their sophomore full length:

“‘Along The Sacred Path’ is a concept album that traces the history of Christianity, continuing the narrative from “Behold The Mankind”. The story is told through the life of some key figures that are not always considered positive by everyone. The main goal is to show how the Gospel message has spread in its original form, becoming the fabric of modern Western society. Scrolling through the track listing, you will see that all the characters are of European origin.”

S91 first single will be released this coming February with album pre-order now available on Rockshots Records at https://shop.rockshots.eu/en/cd/1129-s91-along-the-sacred-path-.html.

Previous releases can be heard on the band’s Bandcamp, Youtube and Spotify.

About:

S91 was formed in 2006 with the intention of playing rock music with Christian lyrics. After several lineup changes and the release of some self-released albums, the band developed its’s own sound influenced by progressive-metal with psychedelic and symphonic influences. In 2012, the band began to write their debut album “Behold the Mankind” in collaboration with producer Cristiano Bertocchi (Labyrinth, Vision Divine, Wind Rose). The album was released in 2016 on the label “Underground Symphony”. The album’s concept was about the history of humanity from the point of view of Christian theology. The audience response was well received and pushed the band to perform on great festivals such as Elements Of Rock in Switzerland (the greatest European Christian Metal festival). S91 are currently wrapping up their follow up release “Along The Sacred Path” due out March 2019 via Rockshots Records.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 16, 2019

For fans of Katatonia, Anathema, Porcupine Tree, Cloudkicker

Nova Scotia’s Atmospheric Prog MARC DURKEE Premieres Album “Remain In Stasis” via EverythingIsNoise

Inspired by Katatonia, Tesseract, Anathema, Devin Townsend, Coheed & Cambria, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia’s solo atmospheric prog artist Marc Durkee’s music can be described as “a blend of progressive, metal/rock, doom metal, post-hardcore, and post-rock. Durkee’s new album ‘Remain In Stasis’ will be out on out January 18th, 2019 and is loaded with deep meaning to this courageous and talented solo artist.

Teaming up with EverythingIsNoise.net, all the world will hear him and ‘Remain In Stasis’, which is streaming in full at the following link: http://everythingisnoise.net/premieres/be-the-first-one-to-listen-to-marc-durkees-new-album-remain-in-stasis/

Durkee adds:

“I’m very happy to share this album with the world. It’s been a lengthy, but an ultimately satisfying process and I’ve learned a lot from it. Hopefully, it will be well received and people will appreciate what I was going for with the diverse mix of songs and styles. I like to also add, that this release is a very a personal one to me. I’ve been stuck in a state of depersonalization for almost five years now. For me, it’s been a chronic symptom of dealing with years of depression and stress, and it’s unrelenting. When it’s at its worst, it removes mostly all motivation and enjoyment from my life. While that is unfortunate, it does serve as a major source of inspiration for my song-writing. The album also serves as second meaning that is more political and universal. I feel that humanity is at a unique point in our history, with technology and social media allowing us to communicate and express ourselves in ways that were previously unimaginable. And yet, nobody really DOES communicate. It seems as though it’s mostly used as a platform to bicker over political ideals and agendas and create discourse, or for anyone to use as their own personal performance venue. Everyone wants to be seen and heard, even those who really don’t deserve to be.”

“this album is exceptional and was a great listening experience. I think there was a really good balance between the upbeat and energetic electric songs as well as some more melancholy and mood-shifting acoustic numbers. Marc Durkee created a wonderful thing with ‘Remain In Stasis’, and while I can hear the influences he made it his own. I would definitely look forward to the release of this one.” – Overdrive Music Mag

“With a handful of EP’s and LP’s out since 2013, he is a one-man band with a vision. A dark and depressing sound that is accessible to Metal and Rock fans alike. “Remain In Stasis” is his first full-length album and all tracks are performed, written, produced, and mixed by Marc. There is some great guitar work here, from heavy, riffing in songs like the opening track “The Dark Dimension” and later in “A Great Disdain” to the acoustic passages in “Not Without Sin” and “A Way To Escape”. Overall it’s a fairly mellow album with the heaviness spread out evenly throughout. ” – Maritime Metal

“Durkee’s approach is multi-faceted and has many sounds blended into his music.  He would be great support for an Opeth, Steven Wilson or Katatonia tour….simply put he has broad horizons as an artist, and his music clearly reflects it.  Let’s all do the guy a favor and not only grab his upcoming album, but also get his great music out there.  2019 has many solid releases lined up and “Remain In Stasis” should be there the whole time.” – Technical Music Review

“While an excellent artist might touch the heart and mind of their audience, only the truly exceptional can reach out and touch a person’s soul. This has been achieved by Marc Durkee in the release of ‘Remain in Stasis.’” – Reverend Rock, host of Too Metal For Church on Hard Rock Hell Radio

“What a talented individual Marc Durkee is and Remain in Stasis is an album he can be very proud of. Filled with all manner of interesting soundscapes and complexities that showcase an impressive ear for song composition.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head Banging Life
““A Way to Escape” digs deep into Durkee’s struggle with depersonalization, the challenges of trying to find yourself and, ultimately, the role that plays in his creative process.” – The East Mag
