Metal Media News: Brazil Black Metal CREPTUM Cover Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration”
New EP Out! “Reborn In Flames”

Brazilian black metallers CREPTUM have posted a cover version of Depeche Mode’s classic “Black Celebration”, which is one of two tracks on the band’s recently released EP “Reborn in Flames” to follow their 2016 album “Of Lies, Curses and Blood” unleashed on Mutilation Records.
The band comments:
“We chose to cover this Depeche Mode song because the lyrics are very consistent with our vision plus the music itself is great.”

Once again CREPTUM presents a complex work, loaded with symbolism and mystery on their new release “Reborn In Flames”.
Vocalist Tanatos (also responsible for the cover art) comments:

2. Black Celebration (Depeche Mode Cover) (4:00)
Formed in 2001 by Tanatos and Animus Atra in Sao Paulo, Brazil under the original name Nekros, CREPTUM’s goal is to play Black Metal without great pretensions of the mainstream and to perform it in its rawest form, with simple riffs and direct lyrics.
In 2003, after solidifying the line-up, CREPTUM recorded the first EP “… make this world burn”. Following its release, band co-founder Tanatos left the band in 2004. In the same year, with a new line-up the band recorded their second EP “The Age of Darkness”. After finishing promotions for their second release, the band decided to to take a hiatus that lasted longer than they wanted for about 8 years, finally announcing their return in 2013 with vocalist Tanatos.
