Once again, Armstrong Metal Fest is proud to announce that this year’s Vancouver Whammy Award winner for Best Local Metal Artist will be playing on the 2018 edition. Festival co-organizer Jesse Valstar will be presenting the award.

Finalists announced in December and final voting running until mid January.

Over the last nine years the festival has hosted a long list of bands such as Revocation, Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Beyond Creation, Rivers of Nihil, The Zenith Passage, Anciients, Bison, Striker, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Unleash The Archers, Ninjaspy, Vesperia, Aggression among many others for British Columbia’s largest gathering of metalheads from across Western Canada and beyond.

Planning their 2018 edition, early bird pre-sale tickets for AMF are now on sale for a limited time until February 1, 2018 for a special price of $95 CAD. Tickets can be purchased at the following link: https://armstrongmetalfest.ca/tickets/

All tickets provide General Admission and grant access to the festival grounds, camping area and arena from 11:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2018 until 11:59 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2018. Free camping is included.

Ticket Prices

After early bird pre-sale tickets have been sold out and starting February 1, 2018, the ticket pre-sale price will go up to $125 CAD.

At the door price will be $165 CAD.

Want to grab your favourite camp spot and beat the rush of metal heads? Guests are welcome to arrive Thursday after 11:00 AM.

All tickets include tent camping. You are welcome to sleep in your vehicle, RV or trailer. Traveling in an RV? AMF is also taking band submissions for the biggest mountain moshpit to ever rumble the BC Rockies.

“This year’s band submission process has been going wonderfully! My favorite part is discovering new bands, and this year we have had quite a few new submissions! We are also very excited to start early bird sales a month early this year. We have updated our website and it is looking better than it ever has! The crew at West Metal Entertainment are working hard this year to make year ten of the festival the best year to date. We are looking to take the festival to the next level. So far so good, so bring it on! Ten Years Strong!”

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2017 was the ninth year of the festival and was its largest year for music and attendance. Moonlight Desires might only play 80s cover songs, but you’d be wrong to dismiss them as just another cover band. Formed by long-time Hamilton, ON musician Trevor Ziebarth (Actor/Writer/Composer on Teletoon’s adult comedy series Sons of Butcher), Moonlight Desires is his ode to the raunchy romances and youthful misadventures of summer’s past. By re-working synth laden pop hits of the 1980s, Ziebarth manages to turn familiar guilty pleasures into modern, guitar-driven rock anthems.

Joined in the studio by drummer Dave Dunham (Not Of, DAVIDS, ex-Chore, ex-Sons Of Butcher) and lead guitarist Marco Bressette (Dead Tired, ex-Threat Signal), their new album “Just The Hits: 1981-1985” transforms timeless hits such as “Sunglasses At Night” by Corey Hart and “Something About You” by Level 42 into party rock anthems.
