NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 9, 2017

For fans of Van Halen, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Sammy Hagar

AUDIOREHAB New Single “Keep Me Coming” From Forthcoming Debut Album “Old School Medicine”

The Cambridge English Dictionary defines ‘Audio’ as ‘pertaining to the sense or organs of hearing’ and ‘Rehab’ as ‘to restore to a former capacity or position’. Well, now we have the band AUDIOREHAB and their goal is to take all that was great about the music of the past and rehabilitate it for the 21st century. It’s all about the ears, no trouble, and AUDIOREHAB are about to launch an aural, multi-spectrum invasion of their audience’s ears!

Planning to release their debut album “Old School Medicine” later this year, AUDIOREHAB are revealing to fans the first taste of what’s to come with their first single “Keep Me Coming” now streaming at the following link: https://soundcloud.com/audiorehab-band/keep-me-coming and available on CD Baby here.

For the debut nine track album, AUDIOREHAB collaborated with award winning producer/engineer/mixer Glen Robinson who has worked with names such as The Ramones, AC/DC, GWAR, Annihilator and Voivod. Featuring tracks like ‘Working For The Man’, ‘See You In Hell’, ‘Soul Like Mine’ and ‘007’, AUDIOREHAB are looking forward to sharing it with their hometown fans from Ottawa and beyond.

“Our album is full of feelings of happiness, regret and hard times, outrage and redemption, with an old-school vibe. The album as a whole is versatile rock with mind-blowing dynamics! The world will never be the same again, our advice? Hear it, don’t fear it! Feel it, don’t repeal it! We feel fans will receive this album like an old friend, and make them feel like they are bumping into their first love again…It’s fun, with a lot of emotion, and full of dynamics. With deep, dark sexy undertones…The lyrics on the album come from our life experiences and our daily surroundings that inspire us, and give us the creative drive to create great music!” says bassist Dan Allan.

“Old School Medicine” album release date, track listing and artwork to be revealed at a later date.

Seattle has long been a melting pot of great music, a veritable cauldron of creativity. Seattle has given the world bands of the diverse caliber of Heart, Sanctuary and Soundgarden. It is a place where aural alchemy is real and bands know they are in a magical place to create music.Such a band is ARISEN FROM NOTHING, even their name is powerful, conjuring forth images of the phoenix in the flames; a potent symbol of strength and rebirth.Inspired by Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Killswitch Engage, guitarist Troy Elmore describes ARISEN FROM NOTHING’s sound as “aggressive, driving, groovy, powerful, brutal.”He is stoked for fans to hear AFN’s new EP “Broken”, which draws inspiration from the state of the world around us and is a strident call for unity.

“There’s a lot of subject matter fans should be able to relate to so I’m hoping it will be received well. Fans will appreciate the new AFN sound, and new direction the band is going in. We wanted songs that had moments of musical complexity but maintain a groove that gets your toes tapping and your head banging.”

Live, AFN are untouchable.

“You can expect a high energy show and a band that is accessible. Hanging after the gig with friends and fans has always been part of what AFN is about and we feel it is important to let them known how much they are appreciated. Life is a busy thing for most folks so when they choose to spend their time and hard-earned money for a night out, the least we can do is give them the best show possible…People can expect to see a very in-your-face, tight and aggressive performance, we are confident we can walk onto any stage and deliver a performance that fans will not forget.”

“Broken” is due out September 29, 2017 via Collective Wave Records.

Arisen From Nothing is:
Jessie Brigham (Vocals)
Steven Pontius (Lead Guitar)
Troy Elmore (Guitar)
Eric Hanson (Bass)
Brandon Fuller (Drums)

Album and Track by Track explained by the band:

As a whole we would describe the album as our own twist on modern heavy metal, doing our best to deliver an element of groove that you can bob your head and tap your foot to, while remaining aggressive and fast enough to windmill and mosh to. Rich melodic choruses, a lot of underlying melody in the riffs and solos, and drums that you feel in your chest.

1. Chaos – This song was always meant to open the album due to the long string intro that starts the song, the song isn’t very fast but has a groove element and lyrical content that we felt should be the first thing people hear. It has small amounts of all the new sounds the band has evolved into.

2. American Patriot – This is quite clearly our “patriotic” song, its quite a bit faster then the opening track and a bit meaner. The first track doesn’t have any actual main solo, this track has a long solo that goes with the theme of the lyrics, funny enough that wasn’t intentional at all.

3. Better Off Dead – This is actually the first track written for the EP, this song starts with a simple synthesizer melody as the drums build up and the first riffs hit. The goal behind this song was to create something that was aggressive and in your face but didn’t lose it’s sense of melody.

4. Falling From Grace – This song was the fastest song written from a compositional perspective, the rhythm and lead guitars, bass and drums were finished in 3 days. This song was intended to just be a good old fashioned “rock” style metal song. Nothing too fancy going on, just some straight ahead fast riffs, intense drumming and a good solid vocal melody on the chorus. This is the second fastest song on the album, clocking in at 185 bpm.

5. Born Hated – This was the very last song written for the EP and definitely the fastest at 212 bpm. With a name like “Born Hated” it’s safe to assume this is the most “metal” song out of the 5. This track was written only a few weeks before hitting the studio. This one has a lot more fast single note riffs and heavy double bass drumming. As soon as it was finished we knew it had to close out the album, we wanted to end with a bang and we felt this song fit that goal.

Striker has toured across dozens of countries as headliners as well as support for major metal acts. Gearing up for the release of their latest album the sky’s the limit for these Canadians!!

– 30 –

“Striker gush with so much enthusiasm here, with explosive riffs swirling between the vibrant harmonies and choruses, that it’s hard not to notice…Tracks like “Former Glory” and “Born to Lose” are anthemic, catchy as hell and feature soaring vocals from Dan Cleary and terrific guitar work by Tim Brown…On Striker, the band take a host of influences and hone them into a sound they can call their own.” – Exclaim!

“From the first storm-summoning power chord on the opener Former Glory, Striker (CAN) proves their new album’s initial claim of not dwelling on the past, a high and appropriate cry of “Yeah, I’m back again!”… If you haven’t witnessed this inspiring resurrection of classic metal, the band plays Friday, April 14 at Starlite with Ravenous and Tylor Dory Trio, no doubt sharpened from the faithful overseas audiences.” – Edmonton Journal

“When a band releases an eponymous album it’s a statement of intent, a sign of confidence, everything being as it should be. For make no mistake, Striker are a special band. As the old Metal Gods ascend to Valhalla, new gods will arise. This is Striker’s fifth album and it’s just timeless. Not retro, not looking back, but taking everything that’s uplifting and glorious about heavy metal into 2017 and beyond…this album has to be in every writer and fan’s top ten at the end of 2017.” – Hellbound

“A less balls out, more aggressive record than its predecessor, STRIKER delivers another impressive collection of high energy headbangers….Regardless of what your heavy metal predilections may be, STRIKER offers something for everyone. Super catchy tunes dripping with shred gymnastics and all around technical prowess, Striker deserves a place on any metal fan’s playlist….If you have not experienced Striker yet, this album is a worthy place to start and should appeal to a wide range of fans, particularly followers of the Priest, Anthrax and Maiden.” – Metal Rules

Out Now! In North America via Rockshots Records Mexican Instrumental Prog Metal GLASS MIND “Dodecaedro”

Mexico City’s instrumental prog metal four-piece GLASS MIND released their new album “Dodecaedro” earlier this year in Europe via Rockshots Records and now it’s hitting the shores of North America as of September 8th.

Influenced by everything from Metallica and Dream Theater through to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Philip Glass, GLASS MIND blends metal, jazz, traditional Mexican music and more. “Dodecaedro” follows their 3 instrumental singles “Detritus” (2014), “Inside the Whale” (2014) and “Babel” (2015) plus their 2011 debut album “Haunting Regrets”. The release is a conceptual album where each song represents an element of nature; fire, air, water, earth and ether. NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 8, 2017

For fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Stratovarius

Out Now! In North America via Rockshots Records Swedish Prog Metal BINARY CREED “A Battle Won”

Swedish progressive metal band BINARY CREED follow up their well-received ‘Restitution’ album with their new opus “A Battle Won” now available in North America as of September 8th via Rockshots Records / MVD Entertainment Distribution.

Inspired by power and progressive metal such as Judas Priest, Queensryche, Nevermore and Opeth, singer Andreas Stoltz describes the sound of BINARY CREED as “melodic, gritty, atmospheric, layered and heavy!”

Stoltz says the subject matter of “A Battle Won” is as heavy as its music.

“The album is a concept album about war, blind obedience and what you sometimes need to do to get away and make yourself a better life. It is about making a stand against oppression and violence even it’s at a very high cost. The opening track ‘Servants’ portrays the madness of blindly following someone else’s doctrine into war. ‘The Fallen King’ is about realising that what you felt was right and important was actually wrong and futile. It’s also about choosing family over religious dogma and facing mortality- that all you have is this brief moment here on Earth.”

“A Battle Won” is available in North America on Amazon here.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 8, 2017

For fans of Faith No More, Interpol, Joy Division, Russian Circles, Cop Shoot Cop

Out Now! Montreal Two Bass Band THE GREAT RUSSIAN EMPIRE Debut EP “Low Ends”

Born from of a desire to create music in an environment where guitars don’t exist. Bassists Benoît Forté (The Lonely Sidewalkers/Coco Méliès/ex-Fallstaf/ex-North East Bistro) and Nicolas Miquelon (Norilsk/Mortör/ex-Kintra) created the dark collective known as THE GREAT RUSSIAN EMPIRE (TGRE). Inspired by the 1980’s new wave and early 1990’s alternative genre, by way of modern folk and various rock influences, their debut EP “Low Ends” is dark in content with lyrics crafted around tragic personal events, and layered with vocals, violin and cello.

Now available as of September 8th, the EP is now streaming in full and can be downloaded or be purchased on CD version presented in a gatefold digi-sleeve at the following link on Bandcamp: https://thegreatrussianempire.bandcamp.com/album/low-ends.

Bassist Ben Forté comments:

“LOW ENDS wasn’t originally supposed to be recorded, well not for our first release. We (Ben Forte and Nic Miquelon) had worked on 6-7 instrumental songs that were supposed to see the day of light on this recording. Let say we were done about 75% and there was still a lot of work to be done and we didn’t feel that we were ready to lay everything down in studio. So… I (Ben Forte) had these other songs almost all done, with lyrics and a good vision of the arrangements. I felt going instrumental right after my other past projects FALLSTAF and NORTH EAST BISTRO would leave me hanging with things not said. So I asked my friend Jason from DIRTCAKE if he could sing on the recordings and he agreed the second I asked and he did an amazing job. I also felt the tracks were a little empty with a few basses and a drum kit so I added strings to support the songs and brought in a cello and a violin. David Méliès recorded almost everything and produced the whole project. Took almost 5 five years to complete this EP and looking back, these first songs we wrote are great because of the literal Low Ends.”

Track Listing:
1. Full of Blood (6:19)
2. The Hands That Bring The Road Kill To The Side (3:49)
3. If Tomorrow Ever Comes (Cop Shoot Cop cover) (6:03)
4. Blood Everywhere (3:52)
5. Pig’s Blood (3:56)
6. The Fence (4:15)
EP Length: 28:19

EP Band and Live Line UP:
Benoît Forté – Bass
Nicolas Miquelon – Bass
Mathieu Lassonde – Drums

Additional guest musicians:
Jason Mateus – Vocals
Sara Jasmin – Violon
Julien Thibault – Cello

“Speaking about unusual music, here is The Great Russian Empire and their astounding debut EP….Although they are genre-bending, constantly jumping from one style to another, the dark rock foundation always stands. Type O Negative meets Nick Cave meets Ween meets Joy Division, something like. Something pretty damn contagious too, I can guarantee you that.” – Merchants of Air

“Who needs a guitar!? A haunting & emotive listen, the EP is more than just dark & throbbing bass. It’s layered with gorgeous vocals & symphonic string instruments, sharing much with the 90’s alternative style of rock (Type O Negative, Faith No More). The Great Russian Empire have managed to craft an exciting & unique piece of work that is far more than just a bunch of throwaway songs.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“TGRE has their own distinct sound, which 9 of 10 bands fail to discover or create. This band not only makes the double bass attack work, but makes it their own. Well done.” – Gears of Rock

“Canadian rockers THE GREAT RUSSIAN EMPIRE have eschewed the guitar option and gone for two basses instead. It really shouldn’t work but in a bass loving bass clandestine amalgamation it does, and some – By Guy Shankland. The surprise is just how damn good and dark it sounds. ‘The Low Ends’ E.P oozes pure black current concentre head tilting Rock ‘N’ Dark.” – Original Rock

“Now, to be honest with you, I can’t quite get my head around this band! … How is it they can do what they do AND make it work – with impact! … And so superbly as well!” – Way Out Radio
