DIVINITY Posts New Lyric Video “Hallowed Earth”
New Album Out Now “The Immortalist”
Calgary, AB progressive death metal band DIVINITY have posted a new lyric video for their track “Hallowed Earth”, which features their second vocalist Jeff “Beast’ Waite’ and is off their new album “The Immortalist” that was unleashed on May 26th.
The band comments on track:
“It’s a poetic take on the idea that some civilization could possibly exist underground with far superior technology and history. Other dimensions may exist inside the earth. Hallowed is a way to infer that we should revere our planet instead of destroying it. Also the hidden race in the Earth is pissed at us and knows that humans really don’t care about the planet or each other.”

“The Immortalist” is a culmination of 5 years of hard work and dedication to DIVINITY‘s craft. The album features 12 tracks that include their two previous EP releases “The Immortalist, Pt. 1 – Awestruck” and “The Immortalist, Pt. 2 –Momentum” with their 3rd EP “The Immortalist Pt. 3 – Conqueror” now completed to finish off the trilogy series as one huge full length album. All the tracks on the album are re-mixed and re-mastered by the talented Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Grid Productions) to make the songs more cohesive and work as a full-length experience. This album also features Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid of Soilwork on vocals for the song ‘D.M.T.’.

About:
Divinity, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, started in 1997 and began playing live shows in 1999. In 2001, the band released its first EP album called “Intensify” which received a lot of local (Canadian) praise after sending in a couple songs to BWBK’s ‘Knuckletrack’ CD sampler. A music video was released for the song “World of Pain” in 2003 and the band played local shows building its show experience.
Fast forward to 2007, Divinity independently releases their first full-length album called “Allegory” and is picked up by Nuclear Blast Records just 3 months after the independent release. Obviously, this was a major turning point for the band!
In 2008, Divinity took on its first major tour by joining the Summer Slaughter Canada tour. This gave them the opportunity to connect to high-calibre booking agents and other acts such as Dying Fetus, Whitechapel, and Necrophagist.
In 2009, Divinity spent it’s time creating their 2nd full-length album, called “The Singularity” which was released under Candlelight Records with a very positive response from numerous reviewers and listeners.
Since the release of The Singularity, Divinity has toured Canada numerous times over and has received massive support and praise from around the world.
The band is currently releasing a trilogy EP concept album now turned into a full-length LP, called ‘The Immortalist’ available May 26th, 2017 at all digital music stores and as a special limited run CD Digipak.

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2016 was the eighth year of the festival and was its largest year for music and attendance. Band Submissions Now Open For Calgary’s 420 Music & Arts Festival + Expo
Big Rock Brewery & METALHEADS UNITED are proud to announce they will be presenting a 2018 edition of the 420 Music & Arts Festival in Calgary, AB, Canada after a successful inaugural expo and concert series this past April.
Submissions for bands to perform at the 2018 420 Music & Arts Festival on April 19th, 20th and 21st are now open as of June 1, 2017 and will close on August 31, 2017. This year’s festival will also be expanding its line up from stoner rock/stoner metal, doom, psychedelic and heavy blues to also include reggae, ska, blues, R&B and hip-hop.

Note: Please fill out the form fully. The festival needs to have as much information as possible to make the decision for your band to be selected for the festival. If you can’t fill out a field because it’s not applicable, please type in ‘No’. The more information provided, the better decisions can be made. The 2017 420 Music & Arts Festival was a three day celebration featuring 22 Stoner Rock, Desert Rock, Doom & Sludge Metal and Fuzzy, Kick Ass Rock n Roll bands surrounding the culture that is 420, which included headliners WO FAT, ANCIIENTS and BLACK MASTIFF. The 420 Expo featured vendors, organizations for marijuana and hemp products, NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), work of select local artists, artisans and craftsman.
