NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 16, 2017

For Fans of Husker Du, The Ramones

Vancouver’s Media Club Comes To An End, Local Punk Rockers GNASH RAMBLER To Play One of The Last Shows June 30th

Debut Self-Titled Album Out Now!

Sometimes all great venues must come to end and all must have a great blow out. Offering a superb brand of hooky punk rock tinged power pop, Vancouver, BC’s GNASH RAMBLERwill be performing one of the last shows at The Media Club on June 30th for the CD release party for their debut self-titled album released this past March. The Media Club will join the list of many other venues in the city that have been closing over the years making it difficult for the local scene to grow and be exposed.

GNASH RAMBLER drummer Brad Mitchell comments on their cd release show being one of the last at The Media Club where they will be performing a barrage of anthemic riffs and bubblegum harmonies off their debut self-titled album.

“Come on out for one last kick at the can for The Media Club, Gnash Rambler will be performing songs from our new self-titled CD. Once the Media Club goes down, the next Gnash record will be Escape From No Fun City. John Carpenter will direct the video, which will feature his and our original music, with enough gunfights, gorgeous girls, and gore to satisfy the most jaded denizen of this rapidly changing (and not for the better) town.”

Vocalist Nick Venditti also adds about the album:

“Many of the songs are just me reflecting on where we’re going these days. The anxiety felt by so many folks on account of all the crazy things going on in the world and even crazier things going on closer to home. We have probably always lived in interesting times, but because of technology our ability to be aware is always going to be at odds with how we process our feelings.”

A full stream of GNASH RAMBLER‘s debut can be heard on the band’s bandcamp at https://gnashrambler1.bandcamp.com/album/gnash-rambler.

Show Details:

Date: Friday, June 30th
Venue: The Media Club, 695 Cambie Street, Vancouver, British Columbia V6B 2P1
Time: 6pm
Cost: $10

About:
All great bands have a great name and the splendidly-named Gnash Rambler is no exception, their name is a combination of that of a classic car and vocalist Nick Venditti’s habit of gnashing his teeth! Their superb brand of ‘hooky metal- tinged power pop” has the potential to be huge, combining a unique musical vision with superb song-writing

Vocalist Nick Venditti explains the origins of Vancouver, BC based Gnash Rambler’s unique music. “The music we do betrays my own obvious musical influences: The Ramones, Motorhead, Husker Du, The Who and the Beatles.”

Venditti sees the time we live in as being a major influence on Gnash Rambler’s songs. “Many of the songs are just me reflecting on where we’re going these days. The anxiety felt by so many folks on account of all the crazy things going on in the world and even crazier things going on closer to home. We have probably always lived in interesting times but because of technology our ability to be aware is always going to be at odds with how we process our feelings.”

Venditti promises the best is yet to come from Gnash Rambler. “Many of these songs had been around for a long time and I had a terrific opportunity to get them down for posterity. The next album will have even more musical stylistic diversity than this one, but will still possess the big post-punk rock sound that is at the heart of what we’re doing.”

Fans won’t forget their live experience in a hurry! “A Gnash Rambler show will often open with a little self-effacing humour and then unleash a barrage of catchy arrangements where deft bass playing weaves through layers of guitars and all of it nailed to the floor with the merciless rolling thunder of drums…I am hoping they will come for the anthemic riffs and stay for the bubblegum harmonies!”

“Vancouver’s Gnash Rambler is a godsend to pop lovers hankering for some old school punk rock!” – Power of Pop

“Gnash Rambler‘s self titled full length is twelve tracks of straight up punk rock whose influences are worn firmly, and proudly, on their sleeves. Gnash Rambler have produced an album that is born of the early days of punk rock, and of the bands that came before, whilst this is an album that treads a well worn path it does so with a self assured swagger. For those with a preference for punk’s halcyon days, and the garage and rock bands from the 60’s and 70’s who were considered to be ‘proto punks’, then Gnash Rambler would be well worth investigating.” – The Punk Site“A collection of Pop Punk anti establishment tunes making you feel like your back in the 80’s and 90’s. With a Ramones/Blink 182 fell, this album will surely go down a treat with fans….A great debut album from the Vancouver Punk Rockers. I look forward to seeing what Gnash Rambler have in store for us with their next album.” – The Rock Pit“Gnash Rambler have captured the spirit of times past. Gnarly guitar riffs, classic rock solos, captivating drumming and catchy vocals all make for an album that is worth countless playthroughs.” – Everything Heavy

“Man Over” just explodes with a passion that must give a reading of 8.9 on the Richter scale! … And the major after shocks are ably rendered by “Bad Karma”” – Wayout Radio

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 16, 2017

For fans of D.R.I., Suicidal Tendencies, Havok, Megadeth

Currently on tour across Canada with metal legends ANNIHILATOR (dates listed below), Montreal thrash champions MUTANK unleash their new EP “W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” via Boonsdale Records, which is now available as of June 16th. The new EP from the 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada winners is short, but sweet to follow their debut cassette EP “M.E.C.H. Metal” and is a taste of what’s to come from the band’s full length planned to be unleashed later this year.

Vocalist/bassist Stephen Reynolds comments:

“It is with sinister pride we begin the next stage of “MU WORLD ORDER” with the release of our new EP W.H.A.T.S.T.H.AT. The human language is not equip to describe what will come next but one thing is certain: it’s time to mosh!”

The five track demolisher “W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” was produced with Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) and is a step up from what people have heard from MUTANK thus far. The title of the EP “W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” stands for “We Have Alottta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviated Titles” and came to be first as joke for the band.

Reynold adds “I just thought it would be funny to force an acronym for ‘what’s that?’ and I came up with ‘We Have Alottta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviated Titles’. From there we came up with the concept of an EP with a bunch of forced acronym titles. The EP itself was written somewhat conceptually with the individual songs being very short thrash songs that come together to make one longer progressive thrash track, which harkens back to the title since we don’t even know what it is!”

“W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T.” is now available for CD order and digital download at the following link: https://mutankthrash.bandcamp.com/album/w-h-a-t-s-t-h-a-t
plus all major online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.
