     Calgary, AB progressive death metal band DIVINITY have posted a new lyric video for their track “DMT”, which features Bjorn Strid of Soilwork and is off theirnew album “The Immortalist” that was unleashed on May 26th.

“We are very proud of this track. Not only does it have some of our best songwriting, but it also has guest vocals by one of our biggest influences Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid of Soilwork! When we sent him the rough demo of the song along with our lyrics and he sent back amazing vocal tracks within a few days that didn’t even need any edits. We were blown away with his abilities and could not be happier with how it turned out! We also got word from Bjorn that he thinks it sounds fantastic too!”

About:

Divinity, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, started in 1997 and began playing live shows in 1999. In 2001, the band released its first EP album called “Intensify” which received a lot of local (Canadian) praise after sending in a couple songs to BWBK’s ‘Knuckletrack’ CD sampler. A music video was released for the song “World of Pain” in 2003 and the band played local shows building its show experience.

Fast forward to 2007, Divinity independently releases their first full-length album called “Allegory” and is picked up by Nuclear Blast Records just 3 months after the independent release. Obviously, this was a major turning point for the band!

In 2008, Divinity took on its first major tour by joining the Summer Slaughter Canada tour. This gave them the opportunity to connect to high-calibre booking agents and other acts such as Dying Fetus, Whitechapel, and Necrophagist.

In 2009, Divinity spent it’s time creating their 2nd full-length album, called “The Singularity” which was released under Candlelight Records with a very positive response from numerous reviewers and listeners.

Since the release of The Singularity, Divinity has toured Canada numerous times over and has received massive support and praise from around the world.

The band is currently releasing a trilogy EP concept album now turned into a full-length LP, called ‘The Immortalist’ available May 26th, 2017 at all digital music stores and as a special limited run CD Digipak.

Touring all over Europe in support of their latest release “Eidolon”, New Brunswick’s ECMA nominees and Music NB award winning doom duo ZAUM announce they will be trekking across their home country of Canada for the month of August with support from Pembroke, ON crusty metal punk two piece Flying Fortress featuring Brandon Wars (Goat Horn, Zuku) vocals/bass and Steelrider (Goat Horn, Cauldron) drums. The tour will be kicking off on August 3rd in Ottawa and head west for it to wrap up in the east on August 22nd in Sudbury, ON (dates listed below).

“It has been a couple of years since we’ve toured within our home country as we’ve primarily focused our efforts overseas since our formation in 2014.  Needless to say, we’re super stoked for this summer adventure across this giant beauty of a country in support of our newest record Eidolon. ZAUM’s second and latest full length musical chapter “Eidolon” was released October 24, 2016 via I HATE Records with distribution via Plastic Head/Sony Music throughout Europe and Century Media in North America to follow their 2014 debut album “Oracles”. In their three years as an active touring band ZAUM have amassed 200+ shows (mainly international) under their belts including support stints for Voivod, Pentagram, and Cauldron.

Days of The Dead Fest Announce 1st Half of 2017 Line Up

(Red Deer, AB)  – October 27-29

Halloween may be about putting on a costume and trick or treating around your city block, but in Red Deer, AB it’s about so much more. The rumours in the area describe a mass pilgrimage, a collective gathering from across Alberta and beyond, a zombie mosh pit coming alive. Are the rumours true…? Well during the Days of The Dead Fest, a Heavy Metal Music Festival Costume Party Extravaganza takes over!

Founded in 2014 by local Red Deer resident and music scene contributor Justin Shadows of Shadows Productions plus vocalist of town favourites Leave The Living, DAYS OF THE DEAD Fest celebrates the heavy sounds of metal, punk and hardcore along with the ritual of transforming yourself in to another character during the Halloween weekend in October.

Now in its 4th year, Days of The Dead has grown to a three day event hosting over 30 bands from across Canada for both all ages and 18+ shows for a reunion of friends, music fans and a Halloween aficionados.

The first half of the DOTD line up has been announced with the second half to be revealed on July 15th.

Actor BILLY BLAIR Signs His Band JUNK To Zombie Shark Records, Premiere New Track “Pop Rock Genocide” via KNAC.com

   

Dallas, Texas rock trio JUNK have inked a worldwide deal with Zombie Shark Records, the new record label from Noah “Shark” Robertson (Motograter, EX-The Browning).

 

JUNK is fronted by guitarist and vocalist, Billy Blair (Surgeon General, Mother Truckin Skull Diggers, Earshot, Love Stricken Demise) who is also a prolific actor and has appeared in such films as Machete, Machete Kills, The Last Stand, Jonah Hex, and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. The three-piece is rounded out by bassist and vocalist, Benjamin K. Bachman (Never Mind The Darkness, Zativah Kid), who has also produced various solo albums and material for film, and drummer Brian Klein (July Alley, Shadow Reichenstein).

Blair states, “We are beyond pleased to be a part of a label that believes in its bands and has our backs.. and that label is Zombie Shark Records! Horror movies and rock n roll in a gift bag!” 

The band takes influence from a wide range of artists such as Billy Idol, Soundgarden, Danzig, INXS, Dooby Brothers, and Alice In Chains plus has shared the stage with bands such as Skid Row, Dokken, Faster Pussycat, and Steel Panther.
