Vancouver Alt-Rockers WITHIN RUST Premiere “What You’re After” via WinnieCooper.net

Everyone loves a good Rhodes piano sound and Vancouver, BC genre-averse rockers WITHIN RUST threw every fancy composition that popped in their head to write a new suave indie pop track entitled “What You’re After” premiering exclusively on WinnieCooper.net.

Vocalist Nolen Scott comments:
“We made a point of writing a type of song that we haven’t written before to jump start our creative juices. We also wrote the song as a “kind of halfway point” to a follow up to 2016 LP ‘Light and Shadow’.”
The new single is produced by Tom Dobzranski (The Zolas, Said The Whale, We Are The City) at Monarch Studio and mastered by Brock Mcfarlane at CPS Mastering.  The track starts with a dance indebted interlude, before jumping ship to a hook laden intro and is about love and loss, particularly the realization that two people might be absolutely terrible for one another. Coupled with shimmering Police-esque guitar lines from Matt Gage, John Waldock’s (bass / additional keys) unwavering focus, powerful drum chops from newly welcomed member Eric Twemlow, and Nolen Scott’s (vocals / keys) soaring highs and crooned anguish, the song ultimately explodes into a brilliantly choreographed finish, joined with a sense of acceptance.

BIO:Within Rust is an explosive rock band drawing from the worlds of indie, prog, punk and pop, ready to bleed with expert musicianship. Once named #3 release of the week by Alan Cross in his A Journal Of Musical Things, with 2015 single “Surfacing”, and picking up reviews from as far as Germany’s powermetal.de for 2016 full length “Light and Shadow” the band trudges on.  The band started 2017 off by polishing off “What You’re After”, a track dripping with ‘prog goes pop’ 80’s nostalgia, with Tom Dobrzanski (The Zolas, Said The Whale, We Are The City) at Monarch Studios and has achieved limited airplay on commercial and college radio across North America.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 2017

For fans of Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Early Classic Thrash of the Big 4

Reminder – Kicking Off This Week – BC/AB Dates – Chilean/Canadian Thrashers SOCIAL ARSONIST

Chilean/Canadian thrash hybrid SOCIAL ARSONIST will be hitting the road for dates across British Columbia and Alberta for the month of May, which will then be followed by a tour of Chile and a return to Canada to perform at the Loud As Hell festival in Drumheller, AB (full dates listed below).

Formed in Chile in 2009 by bassist Dario Zuniga and guitarist Manuel Morgado, the two musicians were unable to locate the perfect vocalist in their home country and turned the World Wide Web. Finding Canadian singer Cayle Charlton, the duo worked with him for years via the internet, honing their material before taking the ultimate step of relocating to Canada.

With a full line up in Vancouver, BC, the fiery crucible of Chilean thrash met the icy cauldron of Canadian metal to create an explosive storm built on a foundation of classic thrash and modern metal resulting in two releases. Their 2016 full length ‘Duality of Perception’ and 2014 debut EP ‘De-Evolution of Thy Self’ both demonstrate the hardship of the band’s sound that is aggressive, fast, intense, catchy and disruptive.

Bassist Dario Zuniga reveals that SOCIAL ARSONIST are inspired by subjects beyond metal clichés.

“The whole album carries the Social Arsonist aggression and message of rebellion and anguish against the institutionalization of society plus we have a wide range of influences, including a South American flavouring that everyone seems to enjoy, and coming from South America just to play our music in Canada, we put a lot of effort and passion into our performance!”

The band will kick off 4 show dates in Mexico, which includes a CD release show in Mexico City on ‘Enders Door’ release day.

Once again RAPHEUMETS WELL brings forth a voyage enriched with lore and a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds.

The synopsis of this next album “Enders Door” is in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos.

Upon arriving to retrieve the artifact, it became apparent that Eryos’s brother Nathyiem would never make it to their arranged meeting point.  In departing from the planet Vaath, Eryos received a distress signal from his brother’s ship, coming from an uncharted planet.  Upon arriving, he found a odd world inhabited by a mysterious species called the Dreth led by lecherous matriarch named Eishar.  It is here that he would uncover a faced-door, an inter-dimensional gateway to the Ender.

RAPHEUMETS WELL has released two singles off the upcoming album, which can be heard at the following links.

About:

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel.  Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers.  The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse. In 2016, they released their highly praised sophomore album ‘The Exile’ via Test Your Metal Records.

Now in 2017, from the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities once again with the band’s third release ‘Enders Door’ due out on May 26th via Test Your Metal Records.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine

“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing

“The Exilebrings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric
