Calgary thrashers ILLYRIAN have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for a one, two punch with an extra kick to the junk for the exclusive FREE download of their new song ‘Round 2: Fight!’, which is the first single and title track from their upcoming album due out on October 7th. The album was co-produced by the band with Casey Lewis at Echo Base Studios plus mastered by Sacha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) at Perfect Fifth Studios.

Formed in 2011 under the name Hellborn Death Engines, the band is resurfacing under the new moniker ILLYRIAN with the recent additions of bassist / vocalist Jeff Perry (Sikarra, ex-Animus Labyrinth) plus British drum sensation Darren May (ex-Deacon Birch) who have brought new and progressive musical mindsets into the band to join original and founding members Scott Onofrychuk (guitars/vocals) and Brandon McNeil (guitar/vocals).

Evolving into a highly technical group playing thrash metal with their erratic and precise on-stage delivery, rapier wit, along with nostalgic charm, ILLYRIAN have removed the constraints of conventional metal sub-genre formula to replace their sound with a melting pot of technical thrash riffs, blistering solos, prog-influenced rhythms along with the band’s signature tri-vocal attack.

A very ambitious band passionate about writing and playing extreme music, Ottawa based metal band Ominous Eclipse have self labeled themselves as a “Hybrid” with death metal being the main aspect combined with elements of thrash, groove, black, melodic etc. Active since 2014, Ominous Eclipse have released an EP, “Beyond The Apocalypse” and an LP “End Of Days.” Starting off playing small local gigs in the Ottawa area, the band has been making waves on the local scene opening for big names such as Revocation, The Agonist, Kalmah and more! Ottawa, ON’s loud, wild and heavy anthemic rock n’rollers HELLBROS have posted a new live video covering Motorhead’s classic track ‘Ace of Spades’. The video was filmed during a performance at Moose McGuire’s in Ottawa and is more like Ace of Spades on speed with HELLBROS playing the song in record time!

“We’ve been playing Ace of Spades for years and Motorhead has always been a big influence on our band. In 2014, we took a band trip and had a chance to rub shoulders with them on Motorhead’s Motorboat cruise that ran through the Gulf of Mexico. A good time we will never forget! So this is our Tribute to Lemmy, the baddest ass motherfucker in rock n roll..” comments guitarist Peter Jurt.

BIO:

Straight outta Canada’s capital, Ottawa Ontario, Hellbros are anything but a bunch of latte sipping civil servants. Instead they spend their time crafting loud, belligerent rock n roll with heaps of attitude. Brothers Peter Jurt (vocals, guitar) & Christian Jurt (guitar) along with childhood friends Josh Roy (drums, vocals) and Mat ‘Spag’ Collins (bass, vocals) create the high-energy quartet that blast out “loud, wild and heavy, excellent stuff as you’d like to point your bucket of beer to the sky while screaming and shouting alongside brothers and sisters during a nightly wild party” – Metal To Infinity

2015 began a great year for the Hellbros, they signed with Bad Reputation Records (Fr) and released their 3rd album, ‘Self Titled’, on September 15th in Europe. A follow up to their debut full length album ‘Goodtime Machine’, which took home the fan voted best rock/hard rock album of the year in the 2012 Independent Music Awards. They once again teamed up with engineer and co-producer Dean Hadjichristou and mixer Riccardo ‘Paso’ Pasini for this album.

November 2015 Hellbros released an unofficial anthem during the Grey Cup week for the Ottawa Redblacks CFL football team. The song entitled, “We’re All Redblacks” was debuted on TSN1200 radio. “Pretty strong effort!, well sung, well performed.” – JR TGOR Show The song was also picked up by Ottawa’s Classic Rock station Chez 106.1 – “Hellbros getting us all in the mood for the Ottawa Redblacks game!” – Woody (Chez 106)

In June 2016 Hellbros will head overseas for a run of shows in Europe that bring them through Belgium, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany & the Netherlands. Just like Hellbros latest album their shows will start off with a “hardrock-like ‘heeeeeell yeaaah!’” and just like it does on their album it will set the tone for the rest of the show. The album is packed from start to finish with so much riffage it’s hard to believe this isn’t a Dragonforce album. Brilliantly fluid, and often unpredictable the album progresses much like a living, breathing entity, darting from one genre to another with out becoming cliché or recognizable. The few singles that have been released just go to show that once again Montreal has another iron smoldering in the forge.

The album tells the story about those moments in life when people are aware of their own insignificance and can not overcome the emotional pain. About:

TAIGA was founded in the Siberian city of Tomsk by Nikolai Seredov from the thrash band “Стахановцы” (Stakhanovtsi) and the funeral doom band “Funeral Tears” along with Andrey Chernov, guitarist of the military/martial industrial metal band “Panzertank”. In December 2013, they released their first two songs, “За чертой” and “На битом стекле”, which marked the beginning of the project. People suffering from mental disorders caused by public misunderstanding, undivided love and their own weakness are the main influence in TAIGA’s lyrics. In January 2014, TAIGA released their the first EP called “Ты всё ещё дышишь” (You Are Still Breathing), which was immediately followed by another EP in February 2014, entitled “Прах к праху” (Ashen To Ashen). With great feedback on their EPs, TAIGA revealed their debut full length “Ashen Light” during March 2014. The album featured new arranged tracks from the first two EPs and was co-released by labels Satanath Record, Metallic Media and and Le Crépuscule Du Soir Productions. In 2015, they released their second album “Gaia” via labels Symbol Of Domination and Metallic Media. In 2016, band recruited Aleksey “Satanath” Korolyov as their keyboardist/ambient sound maker to add to their mystic atmosphere. Quick Note: Andrei Chernov was not involved in the recording of the new album ‘Sky’, but is still involved as a member of the band.
