Their latest full length album “Dog Years” (2014) was the result of years of accumulated experience writing, performing and recording together. For fans of Melvins, Failure, YOB, Torche, Big Business
“There’s a lot of compositional bells and whistles on deck here, from a chugging chorus riff that feels like it’s perpetually interrupting itself to a left-turn Thin Lizzy guitar lick that King Buzzo would surely appreciate. But the part that’ll really suck you in is the sublime vocal harmonies that frontman Mike Simpson layers over the song like fishnet over a boulder.” – Stereogum
“Like the best records by Today Is the Day, Swans and Harvey Milk, all of which I hear in Godstopper’s jarring songwriting…We talk a lot about making extreme music as cathartic for the music maker, but what the listener? I feel no more relieved for having heard Empty Crawlspace. In fact it’s psychically draining. And totally addictive, too. I’m not going to be able to sleep for a week.” – Metalsucks
“Somewhere between the Thunder-Pop of sparkly heavy-hitters Torche, the aggressive sludge of fellow Floridians Cavity and the awkward stop-start dream-logic quasi-operatic noise rock of Pony Express Record-era Shudder To Think lie Toronto’s Godstopper…What Matters is a tough record to describe, in some ways, as any comparisons I care to make are merely rough approximations used in an attempt to point you, the potential listener, in a certain direction, as far as preparing you for what to expect. However, the truth of it is that Godstopper sound exactly like Godstopper, and, really, how many bands these days can truly lay claim to such a thing?” – Sleeping Shaman

L-R – Mike Simpson- Guitar/ Vocals, Miranda Armstrong – Bass, Derek Del Vecchio – Guitar, Adam McGillivray- Drums
Godstopper was formed in 2010. Mike Simpson wrote, performed and recorded a demo, later released on cassette, called “Empty Crawlspace”. The band then became a performing unit in 2011, and has since toured the US and Canada, performing with acts such as Ehnahre, Tombs, and OXBOW.

Canadian psychedelic rockers A DEVIL’S DIN will be touring the UK this September in support of their latest album ‘Skylight’ released this past June via Island Dive Records to follow their 2011 debut album ‘One Day All This Will Be Yours’. The tour will kick off in London on September 10th and end with a special family reunion as A Devil’s Din’s David Lines (originally from the UK) will share the stage with his brother’s band The Elektric Joltz on September 23rd in London. Tour and ticket info can be found here.
The band has posted a video greeting for fans that can be viewed at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VknMPjnQwjA
Full Album Stream of ‘Skylight’ can be heard at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaLTUpQjGzQ

Sept 14 – Pitcher & Piano – Brighton, UK
Sept 23 – London, UK – The Birds Nest w/ support from The Electric Zoltz
A DEVIL’S DIN is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, QC where they were drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock / metal tinged music. Fusing the colourful sounds of Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd & the psychedelic-era Beatles with intensity of classic power bands like Sabbath, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, as well as the boundary-pushing adventure of Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson, A DEVIL’S DIN is an uncommon and uncompromising voice in modern music.
Vocalist / guitarist David Lines comments on their album ‘Skylight’:
“Essentially this album is really a tribute to the psychedelic experience. I drew on my own personal involvement with certain consciousness-expanding substances to create a set of songs that would take the listener on a journey, both lyrically and musically. Within these 9 songs there exists a certain contrast between the hallucinatory and the heavy. Obviously we also owe a lot of this album’s influence to another era, not just by sound and texture, but by the spirit of adventure, daring and experimentation that was prevalent then and bring all of that to the world today, right now.”
Bassist Tom G. Stout also adds “Even though we are inspired by LSD trips, we still like to hit hard, and enjoy getting a little aggressive. You have to balance out the light with the darkness, because otherwise you’re not being real.”

About:
A Devil’s Din is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock music.
In 2008, UK-born stalwart Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and session musician David Lines decided he needed to form a musical outfit that would suit his own particular psychedelically-induced musical visions, and thus A Devil’s Din was born. While still working as a musical “gun-for-hire” around town, he continued to develop the songs and sound for A Devil’s Din–which he considers an Art Project not to be tainted by commercial desires–recording their first album One Day All This Will Be Yours between 2009 and 2010, and releasing it on his own label Island Dive Records in 2011.
Though the musicians on that record were excellent, it wasn’t until Lyonnais bassist and disciple of the Holy Trinity of Rickenbacker Bass (John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Geddy Lee) Thomas Chollet entered the picture, along with drummer Dom Salameh (whose being born in Abu Dhabi did not at all prevent him from becoming an ardent Keith Moon devotee) that the sound really began to take shape. The synergy of the three took the music to another level, as witnessed at their intense and energetic live shows and has been made manifest on the new A Devil’s Din album SKYLIGHT that is set for release on June 17th, 2016.
A Devil’s Din continues to travel further afield in the world of psychedelic and progressive rock music, transforming listeners’ minds where ever they go.
Their first European tour will take place in September and their albums are available through various retailers on line and through their website www.ADevilsDin.com.

0 Empire Extreme – Chariots of The Gods – Ages Unsung
If you are a fan of bands like Bullet for My Valentine, Darkest Hour, and In Flames, you will definitely enjoy Ages Unsung. The album comes out on September 16th, be sure to check it out.

0 Metal Trenches – The Apex – Underbelly (EP)
If you dug The Apex’s last outing or were a fan of Left Behind’s latest album, Underbelly should scratch that same itch. The songs are intense, the musicianship is madness, and the atmosphere is thick with dystopian high rises and nihilistic bile. Maybe you’re already pissed off, maybe you just want to feel something, or maybe you just want to slam dance a bit. Whatever the case may be, it’s time to fuel the fire.
