In additional news, the band teamed up with SkullsnBones.com for their next guitar playthrough for their track ‘In Waves’ that features vocals from Mark Hunter of Chimaira.
“Crazy things happen when your buddy runs a butcher shop and has an open mind. We shot this video as a playthrough ,but with a different spin on the concept. There was so much blood and flesh, I almost went vegan. Almost.” comments guitarist DJ Temple.

The band’s new EP ‘Mouichido’ is a rebirth for the band as it’s a re-release of re-recorded material from their 2014 EP ‘Reborn’. ‘Mouichido’ is the Japanese word for “Repeat” or “to do one more time” and is perfectly titled for the EP to signify its re-release of previously recorded versions that now feature new vocalist Alex Friis and bass tracks recorded by Tristan Martin plus live performance being done by Ryan Loewen along with a guest appearance by vocalist Mark Hunter of Chimaira on track ‘In Waves’.

About:
Tenacity, work ethic and originality. There’s no excuses anymore.
Vancouver-based Without Mercy certainly stays true to its name. Ruthless and menacing, these Canadian metal titans have cultivated and redefined the phrase, “Fuck Pussy Metal”.
Founded in 2004, Without Mercy has gone from strength to strength over the years. They released their first EP “All Else Fails” in 2007 completely independently and used its humble beginnings to start the catapulting of performances, internet presence and radio play. In 2009, Without Mercy went on to record their self-titled full length album using the same team that worked on records by Devin Townsend, Mudvayne, and Marilyn Manson. Without Mercy rode the attention wave of their self-titled debut, using the escalation to begin a relentless performance schedule that would lead them far from their hometown and include over 200 live performances. No stranger to tenacity, in only a few short years Without Mercy have achieved; being the only indie metal band in Western Canada to have two tracks available on Rock Band 3, being featured in Tattoo Savage Magazine, and pioneering the phrases, ‘You Smell Like A Bitch’ and ‘Fuck Pussy Metal’ – which have now become synonymous with the band.
In 2014, Without Mercy unleashed third studio release, “Reborn”. Another massive evolution for the band, Without Mercy sought to bring back the organic metal sound and combine it with a high production standard. Fast forward to 2016, some line up changes with a new vocalist and bassist, the band is ready to share with fans re-recorded material from ‘Reborn’ on their new EP ‘Mouichido’ that even features Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter on their track ‘In Waves’. The EP is set to be unleashed on May 27th, 2016 and will be supported with a steady rotation of touring and appearances across Canada and the USA. All of course, independently.

LIKE ANIMALS Playing East Coast Awakening Festival + Canadian Tour Dates (ON/QC/NB/NS)
New EP ‘Feral’ Out Now!

Orillia, ON’s deviant melodic math metallers LIKE ANIMALS are hitting the road this summer for dates across Eastern Canada in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec plus Ontario and will be kicking off the tour with a performance at the East Coast Awakening Festival in Keswick, NB on July 31st on the FNG Stage (set time – 12:40pm- 1:20pm). The festivals line up inlcudes Silverstein, The Agonist, Cauldron, Sewn Eyes, Nervosa among many more bands from Eastern Canada.
LIKE ANIMALS‘ tour will be support of their new EP ‘Feral’ released at the beginning of January 2016 to follow their previous animal-themed EPs ‘Sweet Whispers, Plagued Ears’, ‘The Undertoad’ and ‘The Wild’.

Aug 13 – Quebec City, QC – Le Sous-Sol Du Cercle
Like Animals are breaking free of the constricting chains of modern music and are busy creating their own uninhibited style of spastic-math-metal graced with emotionally-charged vocals. Like a wild animal each member maintains a sense of chaos through their arpeggio guitar and bass sections, unorthodox drums peppered with dynamic changes, and finally tempered by the wavering vocals soaring just slightly above the instrumentals both in tone and feeling. The beasts within the band each perform vocal duties a sound akin to a coyote-esque choir featuring Jamie Haffenden on guitar and lead vocals, Will Tennant on drums, Myke Caouette on bass.
Their name is synonymous with their song-writing and attitude, where they are part of a pack, but still remain hungry and solitary, like a stray animal. Their 400-show track record over the years reveals their dedication to their craft having shared the stage with such bands as Fuck The Facts, Dog Fashion Disco, Adrenechrome, Downtown Brown, Scale The Summit, Polkadot Cadaver, Teethmarks and many more.
With four animal-themed EPs in tow (‘Sweet Whispers, Plagued Ears, The Undertoad, The Wild) and their new release called ‘Feral’ unleashed on January 22nd, 2016, the band is constantly working to create a continuously more mature and higher caliber sound. The group hunts and writes as a unit by drafting and evolving each song with each giving their own input.
Lyrics contend with themes such as: self-doubt, lack of self-worth, depression, anxiety, and the like. Like Animals continue to push the boundaries of the several genres which they base their experimental music on while committing to the best music they can produce.

hooky riffs, catchy choruses and a perfect clean/growled vocal combination….There are many memorable moments on The Fallen Sun and for an unsigned band, Sludgehammer possesses loads of potential. Highly recommended!

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2016 will be the eighth year of the festival and is planned to be the largest year for music and attendance yet. This year’s team of organizers known as the West Metal Entertainment Society is the most dedicated to date and are excited to present an incredible line up along with some changes to come for AMF 2016. Celestial Ruin creates songs that are instantly memorable with some beautiful melodies. I reviewed “The Awakening” in 2012 and while I liked it very much, I honestly feel that “Pandora” far surpasses it. Celestial Ruin has grown in song-writing, musicianship and presentation. Let’s hope that a full-length is not too far on the horizon. http://www.femmemetalwebzine.net/2016/07/05/celestial-ruin-pandora-ep-2016/
