“all four tracks contain heavy doses of noise rock and sludge to form the band’s signature sound.” – Exclaim!
““Fractions of Failure” is an addictive blast that demands you to press play again before the dust can settle.” – SludgeLord
“holy fuck does this band shred…iff driven and intense, indeed the music stands apart with an underlying foundation of ugly and intense hardcore, with healthy doses of abrasive noise rock and heavy sludge mixed in to create a unique sound. Make no mistake if you’re a fan of Converge or Cult Leader, then you’re gonna love this band.” – SludgeLord
“Without Solace strikes a balance between overt slaughter and a pernicious, grating quality that whittles the listener down, leaving you raw in unexpected places. It’s easy to focus on the smouldering ruin of “Parathion Cocktail” or the off-kilter bellow of “Closetalker,” but it’s the creeping moments of gloom, as on “Rotting Bloom,” which sneak the knife in between the ribs. At once bloodier and more cunning than their last release, Without Solace is a strong piece of butchery.” – Exclaim! (Without Solace (2013) Album Review)
“A sonically abrasive Anion not only lives up to their namesake but also to the 2013 release,Without Solace.” – Beatoute BC
“Their noisy, angry, sludgy, pound-yer-face-in brand of aggression is best heard on the hissy 1980 sound of a cassette tape or on the warm and sweaty sound of vinyl.” – Terrorizer
“Another local band to keep an eye on, Vancouver’s Anion have dropped a punishing slab of hardcore in the way of their Carrion King seven-inch. Four songs striking a balance between stabby hardcore and slow-drain sludge, Carrion King is the perfect primer to the band and their vitriolic brand of sludgecore. A promising beginning for a band poised to do great things.” –Hellbound.ca
“And this is some riffy hardcore, almost a crossover of stoner metal and sludgy doom shit.” The Skinny Magazine

Anion was formed in early 2010 in a diesel soaked rehearsal space with one purpose – to create the music that its members wanted to hear. No scene points, no genre devotion – just a desire to create devastatingly heavy and ultimately ugly music. Riff driven and intense, the music stands apart with an underlying foundation of ugly and intense hardcore, healthy doses of abrasive noise rock and heavy sludge mixed in to create a unique sound that Anion are known for.
A new EP/7” record entitled “Fractions of Failure” is scheduled for release on May 20, 2016 via No List Records and features artwork by Demian Johnston (Great Falls/Playing Enemy). This EP, recorded by Jesse Gander at Rain City Studios, sees the recorded debut of new vocalist Sean Bouchard and new drummer Tristan Helgason (ex-Ghost of Modern Man, Molten Lava), elevating the band to a new level.
Anion’s last full length LP, entitled “Without Solace”, was released in September 2013 via No List Records on gatefold vinyl and digital formats. This album, recorded with legendary producer Matt Bayles (Botch, Mastodon, Isis) at Red Room studios in Seattle, WA, “Without Solace”.
Having played with bands such as Indian (Relapse), Helm’s Alee (HydraHead), Thrones (Southern Lord), Black Elk (Crucial Blast), KENmode (Profound Lore), and Ghostlimb (Vitriol), among many other well-known acts, Anion’s live shows are intense and abrasive. Not soon forgotten, they have gained notoriety for these live performances in various publications and websites such as Exclaim! and Beatroute.
With the digital Manolete EP, the Carrion King 7″ and the handcrafted Corpseflower cassette among their releases, Anion has had extremely favorable reviews in publications/sites such as Terrorizer, Maximum Rock and Roll, Exclaim!, Hellbound and more.

Helm’s Alee, Indian, KEN mode, Black Elk, Thrones, Great Sabatini and Ghostlimb, among others.

A DEVIL’S DIN is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, QC where they were drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock / metal tinged music. Fusing the colourful sounds of Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd & the psychedelic-era Beatles with intensity of classic power bands like Sabbath, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, as well as the boundary-pushing adventure of Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson, A DEVIL’S DIN is an uncommon and uncompromising voice in modern music.
Debuting their album ‘One Day All This Will Be Yours’ in 2011, its been a trippy five years since fans have heard new material from the psychedelic rockers. Hitting the studio in 2014, they now return with their 2016 follow up ‘Skylight’ set for official release on June 17th to take fans on a new trip.
Teaming up with PureGrainAudio.com, the band’s third single ‘Nature of The Beast’ is now streaming at the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/a-devil-s-din-unleash-some-carnage-with-stream-of-new-song-nature-of-the-beast-exclusive-premiere
Vocalist / guitarist David Lines comments on the track:
“‘Nature of the Beast’ is one of the heavier tracks on our album and with a title like that, you’d expect that! But the beast in question isn’t anything out of the bible, it’s about the beast we all know and hate: bureaucracy! It sort of came to me while I was on hold with the phone company. Nature of the Beast, indeed.
Sometimes a phrase or expression is enough to get me going songwriting-wise and ‘Nature of the Beast’ was no exception. It’s a really heavy, deep, multi-layered saying. “What’s the Beast? Why is that its Nature?” Musically the song starts with an interesting rhythmic guitar chord sequence, ran through a phaser and Space Echo with haunting lead bends echoing off in the distance, creating a dark, hallucinatory setting. Then everything drops out for a fast almost chromatic guitar riff, which kicks into overdrive and busts open like a ton of bricks. Maybe it’s a bit of a formula for us, like Genus Novus and WARGASM! from the first record, but we love to start off with a spooky, trippy vibe before unleashing the heaviosity. It makes for a more interesting listening experience, at least we think so! We like the music to go places and not be so obvious. Maybe it requires more attention to get into to it, but for us, it’s way more compelling.”

About:
A Devil’s Din is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock music.
In 2008, UK-born stalwart Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and session musician David Lines decided he needed to form a musical outfit that would suit his own particular psychedelically-induced musical visions, and thus A Devil’s Din was born. While still working as a musical “gun-for-hire” around town, he continued to develop the songs and sound for A Devil’s Din–which he considers an Art Project not to be tainted by commercial desires–recording their first album One Day All This Will Be Yours between 2009 and 2010, and releasing it on his own label Island Dive Records in 2011.
Though the musicians on that record were excellent, it wasn’t until Lyonnais bassist and disciple of the Holy Trinity of Rickenbacker Bass (John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Geddy Lee) Thomas Chollet entered the picture, along with drummer Dom Salameh (whose being born in Abu Dhabi did not at all prevent him from becoming an ardent Keith Moon devotee) that the sound really began to take shape. The synergy of the three took the music to another level, as witnessed at their intense and energetic live shows and has been made manifest on the new A Devil’s Din album SKYLIGHT that is set for release on June 17th, 2016.
A Devil’s Din continues to travel further afield in the world of psychedelic and progressive rock music, transforming listeners’ minds where ever they go.
Their first European tour will take place in September and their albums are available through various retailers on line and through their website www.ADevilsDin.com.

New Album ‘Unsaved Progress’ Out Now!

Album Stream – Unsaved Progress – https://soundcloud.com/doubleexperience/sets/double-experience-album-full-stream
Canadian neo-rock nerds DOUBLE EXPERIENCE have returned from their May tour across the UK and will be hitting the road for dates in Ontario and Quebec this coming July in support of their newly released third studio album ‘Unsaved Progress’.
“Our most recent tour in the UK involved everything from Pokemon-themed cocktails to Game Boy duels with our fans at our merch table. We’re excited to see how these Canadian shows can up the ante,” says Ian Nichols, vocalist.

The band’s latest music video tribute ‘The Glimmer Shot’ for the video game ‘Destiny’ can be watched at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AejX3M1H-E4

DOUBLE EXPERIENCE’s third studio album entitled “Unsaved Progress” was released on April 8th via their label Colfax Music. Taking the next step from their previous album – initially released exclusively on collectible trading cards, the band utilize classic video-game inspired artwork and packaging. The album was brought to life with the help of Al Jacob and Kit Walters (HE IS LEGEND) at Warrior Sound in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Prior to the creation of “Unsaved Progress”, Double Experience were busy performing across 15 countries, playing everywhere from video game museums to tattoo conventions as well as showcases at Canadian Music Week and Indie Week Canada. Their adventures have been supported by international radio, festivals and television alike, culminating with an entire nerd-rock exposé and performance on Global TV in Canada.
Album orders are now available at the band’s merch store here. A deluxe edition of the album – boasting two unreleased songs, two acoustic remixes, merch discount codes, studio footage and a brand new trading card – is also available for the fastidious Double Experience collector.
