Recently unleashing their debut album ‘The Carnal Sabbath’ via Satanath Records (Russia) and Black Plague Records (USA), Colorado Springs, CO black metal blood brother duo Jerred & Wyatt Houseman’s HELLEBORUS will be joining forces with Black Sky Brewery for a new craft beer entitled ‘Ritual’ to be revealed at their next performance presented by the brewery and Metal Nation Radio in Denver, CO on July 15th at Bluebird Theater. HELLEBORUS will be joined by Of Feather And Bone, Belhor, Scepter of Eligos. Full details can be found here.

Black Sky Brewery head brewer Harry Smith comments:

“Black Sky Brewery & the mighty Helleborus have come together to create a unique experience, a one of a kind Beer…. a Spruce Tip Saison! This easy drinking brew was made using pale ale malt, pilsen malt, cara ruby malt, cara foam malt, and honey malt the hop profile is German Magnum, and German Hersbrucker. Slightly floral and a little dry it will be accentuated by the addition of fresh spruce tips picked by the band in the mountains of Colorado.

Working with bands such as Helleborus gives us at Black Sky Brewery a cool outlet for creativity. Basically we sit down with the band and figure out what type of brew to create based on the music they create, personalities and general likes it dislikes. The beer needs to be a reflection of how the band makes you feel. So ask yourselves if your band was a beer what type of beer would YOU be?”

Conceived within the womb of Execration, Helleborus is the latest emanation of Jerred & Wyatt Houseman. Like the enigmatic and deadly winter flower from which the project takes its name, Helleborus pushes the exploration of traditional black metal into the uncharted territory of sensual duality and mysticism. Building on their professional experience with Execration and personal experiences through Akhenaten, the Houseman brothers sought a deeper expression of their experiential-driven musical style that audiences can connect with through a union of opposites.
