Larrisa Dawn has such an alluring and sensual voice, it just surrounds your brain and makes you stop whatever it is you’re doing and just take in the greatness of it. She’s like a metal version of Stevie Nicks….The guitar leads are awesome, with the speed and such beautiful flow they are some of the best power metal riffs out today. The entire EP is awesome! I just let it play again and again. Hopefully this is just a taste of what is to come by way of a full album.

A DEVIL’S DIN is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, QC where they were drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock / metal tinged music. Fusing the colourful sounds of Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd & the psychedelic-era Beatles with intensity of classic power bands like Sabbath, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, as well as the boundary-pushing adventure of Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson, A DEVIL’S DIN is an uncommon and uncompromising voice in modern music.
Debuting their album ‘One Day All This Will Be Yours’ in 2011, its been a trippy five years since fans have heard new material from the psychedelic rockers. Hitting the studio in 2014, they now return with their 2016 follow up ‘Skylight’ set for official release on June 17th to take fans on a new trip.

“Phaze Ulysses” is the second track on the album and a continuation of the album’s theme, which is about growth and discovery on the psychedelic journey. It’s probably our most upbeat tune on the record, with a really fun, driving guitar riff that opens up the track. The beat is almost like those classic “bug beats” from the 60’s, but the chords move in unusual ways, creating the space for unexpected, but really hooky melody. And over-all, it’s pretty heavy! It’s about opening your mind, but not being too stressed about it. “You don’t have too see the light, just scrutinize the glow.” No one expects you to become a Buddha, at least make the effort to not be an asshole.” comments vocalist/ guitarist David Lines

In 2008, UK-born stalwart Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and session musician David Lines decided he needed to form a musical outfit that would suit his own particular psychedelically-induced musical visions, and thus A Devil’s Din was born. While still working as a musical “gun-for-hire” around town, he continued to develop the songs and sound for A Devil’s Din–which he considers an Art Project not to be tainted by commercial desires–recording their first album One Day All This Will Be Yours between 2009 and 2010, and releasing it on his own label Island Dive Records in 2011.
Though the musicians on that record were excellent, it wasn’t until Lyonnais bassist and disciple of the Holy Trinity of Rickenbacker Bass (John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Geddy Lee) Thomas Chollet entered the picture, along with drummer Dom Salameh (whose being born in Abu Dhabi did not at all prevent him from becoming an ardent Keith Moon devotee) that the sound really began to take shape. The synergy of the three took the music to another level, as witnessed at their intense and energetic live shows and has been made manifest on the new A Devil’s Din album SKYLIGHT that is set for release on June 17th, 2016.
A Devil’s Din continues to travel further afield in the world of psychedelic and progressive rock music, transforming listeners’ minds where ever they go.
Their first European tour will take place in September and their albums are available through various retailers on line and through their website www.ADevilsDin.com.

The debut full length is a concept album about medieval dark times and inquisitions during the middle ages where all punishment methods were performed by demons and Baphomets evil army against all believers of God. Lyrical themes touch upon witchcraft, demonic punishments and tortures in the depths of hell and the satanic temple of Baphomet. Dedicated to all evil goats worldwide with eight new songs plus an Incantation cover song ‘Profanation’.

The thing about Sludgehammer musically is they take so many different styles and mesh them together into this sound that encapsulates traditional, thrash, modern, death, and progressive metal, while creating something unique yet familiar. The excellent guitar work with hooky riffs and blazing solos matched with the heaviness and intensity was greatly appealing.
