Armstrong Metal Fest Enters Its Own Destroyer In This Year’s Armstrong Demolition Derby

Armstrong Metal Fest is proud to announce they have entered their own destroyer for this week’s Armstrong Demolition Derby taking place on October 11th at the IPE Fair Grounds.
AMF co-founder Jesse Valstar comments:
“I am very excited to work with a driver for this years Demolition Derby! I have been a big fan of the derby since it was brought back. Ronald Topham got me in contact with Nick Yasinski (builder of the AMF derby destroyer) and we are all very excited to see it in motion! Nicks aunt (Roberta Yasinski age 63) will be the first driver in the figure 8 heat and Nick will be driving in the second smash heat (if there’s anything left of it of course). Come on out and cheer Metalfest Van 63!

Cash at gates. $15 adults, $10 seniors/Students, Kids under 10 Free (Max 2 per adult)
Concessions on site. Full Size Cars & Trucks plus Mini Van racing this year. Partial proceeds from the event will go to the Armstrong Food Bank!
In additional news, Armstrong Metal Fest is still taking band submissions until November 1st for this year’s 8th annual 2016 edition taking place on July 15th and 16th in Armstrong, BC at the Hassen Arena to showcase over thirty Western Canadian and international bands.
Previous years of the festival have seen line ups with Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Anciients, Bison BC, Striker, Crimson Shadows, Holy Grail, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Unleash The Archers, Divinity, Into Eternity, Ninjaspy, Vesperia, XUL, Odinfist, Death Toll Rising, Gomorrah among many others .

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2016 will be the eighth year of the festival and is planned to be the largest year for music and attendance yet. This year’s team of organizers known as the West Metal Entertainment Society is the most dedicated to date and are excited to present an incredible line up along with some changes to come for AMF 2016.
