Legendary Canadian grindcore outfit FUCK THE FACTS announce their return with their latest album ‘Desire Will Rot’ set to be unleashed on August 25th via their own indie label Noise Salvation. The album is the band’s first full length since 2011’s ‘Die Miserable’ and follows the band’s recent split EP with Fistfuck along with 2014’s ‘Abandoned’ and 2013’s ‘Amer’ EPs. Recorded and mixed by FTF guitarist Topon Das at his Apartment 2 recording studio in Ottawa, ON, Das comments the following on the upcoming album.
“Even though we’ve been consistently releasing new music over the past few years, we haven’t put out a full-length album since 2011’s Die Miserable. I love the EPs that we’ve released since then, but this album is long overdue and was initially intended to come out much earlier.
Our 2013 EP Amer is actually the B-sides of Desire Will Rot, and the original plan was for them to be released together (like we did with Die Miserable and the Misery EP). Over the past 12 months we’ve only played a handful of shows, and this has finally allowed us the time to not only complete this new album, but also our Abandoned EP that came out in October last year, and the split with Fistfuck, which has just been released.
Obviously some similarities to the Amer EP are to be expected on this new record, but I think Desire Will Rot is also very similar to our 2008 album Disgorge Mexico in sound and feel. For me, Disgorge Mexico is the album that really defined what I wanted to do with Fuck The Facts, so to finally have a record that I feel has matched that, is something I’m very excited about.”
‘Desire Will Rot’ will be released on 12” vinyl, CD, Cassette and Digital Download. Pre-Orders available at http://www.fuckthefacts.com.
About:
Started as a recording project in the late 90’s, it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic that produced a slew of underground releases drove Fuck The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena. Since then, the Ottawa-based unit has barely stopped for a breath of reconsideration, associating themselves with some of the biggest labels in underground extreme music, as well as continuing a steady output of DIY releases. Having toured hundreds of thousands of kilometers throughout North America and Europe, guitarist/founder Topon Das, vocalist Mel Mongeon, drummer Mathieu Vilandré, bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon, and guitarist Johnny Ibay have performed at some of the biggest festivals and sweated it out in some of the smallest basements. From 2006-2011 Fuck The Facts released three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records.  Upon the completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows Fuck The Facts efforts as an entity continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper understanding of what significance their art holds to them. As one of the longest running and most recognizable names in Canadian Grindcore, FUCK THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grindcore” with no end in sight.

Canadian neo-rock nerds DOUBLE EXPERIENCE are proud to announce new European dates this summer to follow their fourth UK tour this May and June (which will include new drummer Dafydd Cartwright). The band will be extending their road travels to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands (dates liste below) in promotion of last year’s debut album ‘721835’, which is streaming at the following link here.

About:

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, four times in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory: Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences, the album follows up their 2011 EP ‘One Big Quicksand’ recorded and produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) that was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

“Nerds from our great neighbors from the North can rock!  Double XP is a lot more than a couple of gamers with instruments.  Their upcoming album goes to show that gamers really do have feelings, and they are not ashamed to talk about em!” Royal Flush Magazine

“Their debut album “721835” consists of a fairly ballsy bunch of well-written alternative rock ‘n’ roll songs with cheeky riffs and ambitious vocal melodies. The lyrics might very well have been inspired by nerdy things and contain plenty of references that can be cherished by fellow nerds, but at the same time they are written in a way that succeeds in communicating extremely relatable feelings and experiences.” – Rock Freaks

“They’re a quartet who embrace their nerdy credentials, and luckily for those who may be concerned also know how to knock out some chunky riffs and melody lines.” – Screamer Magazine

“I recommend checking out “721835” if you enjoy rock music, Fall Out Boy, or simply love the combination of music and gaming/comic books/trading cards/etc.” – Canadian Beats

“Good songwriters…I think [Double Experience] are next. They’re going to do very well and I’m very excited about that.” – Jayson DeZuzio, producer (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Four Year Strong)

“The most genuine and down to earth band I’ve ever had to work with, load-in and sound checks were quick and easy with this bunch and they are some of the most hard working guys we as a venue have ever had the pleasure of the working with. Having traveled so far, and never played Swansea… prior to the show we were very unsure as to which way the event would turnout. But sure enough, [the band] did not disappoint. Playing to a pretty full room of Welsh fans singing and dancing along, throwing in a cover by Queen to really get them going. As a promoter and venue owner, I would recommend booking this band to anyone in the world, they definitely will not disappoint.” – William Sheldon, Promoter & Venue Owner – Static Bar, Swansea UK

“It’s rare that a band like Double Experience come along so we’re going to cherish them while they can still call themselves an ‘upcoming’ band because it won’t be long before they’re playing sold out massive shows. Great band, highly recommended.” – Andrew Dutton, Promoter – The Square, Harlow UK

Self-titled EP – 2014
Infection Born of Ending – 2015

Biography

Creaking, bleak and articulate in its fury, Idolatry perform dynamic black metal that is at once cold and calculating, and then a schizophrenic catharsis. Comprised of members from Edmonton’s finest pedigree of extreme metal with singular vision to be old Norway’s soldier in Canada’s frozen tundra of misery. Live, Idolatry is corpse painted, spiked, and manic, raiding crowds of their attention to all else….terrifying. At the pen, Idolatry is wise and ancient. Heavily steeped in philosophy and the defense of Atheistic Satanism and the expulsion of abhorrent inner turmoil.

Fear what is coming….. Lest the mirrors paint your face in our madness.
“Idolatry creates basic black metal with a flowing melodic inner structure despite its raw exterior. The strikingly morose atmosphere of the music is what appealed to me the most.” – Deathmetal.org

“The music gets under your skin and writhes like worms in your head. Its dismal melodies tend to stay in your head, too. The finishing instrumental segment over the video’s closing credits is eerie, dramatic, and powerful — and it offers no hope either” – NoCleanSinging.com

Dreadful, horrifying, and ear shattering black metal emanates like some kind of noxious fog from my speakers, enveloping my very being with its disgusting, cathartic wails. This must be Idolatry, and their debut release.
