“Fayne have unleashed a maelstrom of a fury in The Queen of Kings EP. Bracingly raw yet just as feverishly sculpted the five track metalcore fuelled encounter reasserts the Montreal quintet as a seriously compelling proposition. It is merciless and ravenous examination of the senses and a perpetual spark for the imagination to feed upon.” – Ring Master Reviews
“The Fayne heavy drum sound is similar to that of Slipknot. The vocal screams are like those of Hatebreed with the more melodic breaks of Redlight King’s vibe. The band is full of nonstop energy. The hooks from Alex and Nick are great to get the pulse going along with Carlo’s relentless percussion assault. Joseph shows his vocal range quite well on this release while Chris plays lights out on the bass tracks. It’s no surprise that they are a favorite of theValhalla Sound Circus after only one year. It’s a hint of great things to come from another good Canadian metal outfit.” – National Rock Review
“The Main Course for the night, Fayne, surely filled Our Hearts and Bellies with core-filled fist burgers and motivated serenading side salads!! Fayne is back and with a Vengeance: that’s for sure! The energy they created on stage powered their amps and reinforced the crowd. Surely Fayne has a message to spread! Thoughtful lyrical content brought us together, uplifting the crowd, spreading the power of oneness, and knocking down the walls of mind blocks that stand before us. And speaking of walls…the dense wall of sound created by the breakdowns surely raised a rumble of raised fists and energetic punters moshing heads.” – Montrealites (Live Review 2014)
“I was just impressed all around with how well these guys go together. Their chemistry on stage, musically, and physically is something I haven’t seen in a while. Their music collides with an influence of Misery Signals meets Pantera. They are known for blending in sick guitar solos with heavier strums, melancholic/mean vocals and an insane amount of energy. When I mentioned throughout the day to a few friends I was checking these dudes out, I got a lot of “Those guys are awesome!” – clearly a good fan base as well. Congrats guys.” – (Live Review 2013) – Bucket List Music Reviews
“There is no doubt in my mind that Canada’s Fayne is a solid band, musically they’re very tight and heavy enough to make you crowd surf at one of their gigs.” – Explicitly Intense
” FAYNE have expressed all fury with “The Queen Of Kings”, packed into 5 small songs to make this short little EP. With raw flavors exposed in this collection, the quintet has created a monstrous noise…All in all the EP does mark a great return for FAYNE.” Metal Temple
“Fayne is back from their hiatus with a Fury of furious Screams, Hard Hitting skins and Heavy sculpted guitar leads and solos. With a silent but deadly approach Fayne slays into the album with the title track The Queen Of Kings.” – Kingston Music Reviews
“La recette est bien exploitée, tous les éléments du genre sont en place avec des guitares adipeuses qui chuintent lors de certains moments opportuns.” – Voir

Montreal metal-core quintet Fayne began their journey straight out of the womb. Lead guitarist Alex Gonzalez was at the hospital while rhythm guitarist Nick Fazioli was born. Growing up together, they played guitar and covered songs through their high school years. Starting a band was the natural next step. Gonzalez was Fayne’s original screamer, but as he started to focus on guitar and songwriting, the band invited Joseph Espinosa to take over the vocals. Espinosa grew up with a blues musician father and has participated in progressive/ambient project Seasonal A.D., as well as some hip-hop and electronica gigs, making him an unconventional and exciting addition. Fayne also features Chris Kasp on bass and Carlo De luliis on drums.
The band embarked on several mini-tours in 2004, accompanying groups like Cobourg (currently Gentlemen Husbands) through Eastern Canada, and opening for groups like Alexisonfire and Underoath. The tours helped Fayne develop a great reputation and loyal fanbase within the metal-core scene. Fayne’s music delivers metal coupled with melodic, attitude-fueled breakdowns, high energy performances full of positive vibes, and ridiculously powerful guitar solos. Between Gonzalez’s and Fazioli’s metal-head backgrounds and Espinosa’s hip hop influence, this band is currently delivering one of the most original acts in the scene.
After releasing two EPs You Took it All Away (2004) and Delivering The Final Blow (2006), the band made the difficult decision to go on hiatus in 2008. Eager to continue creating, the group reformed in 2013 with a renewed hunger and dedication. They began to write and record their third and upcoming EP, The Queen of Kings, which is set to be released November 20, 2014. Heavily influenced by bands such as Counterparts, Mastodon, and Periphery, The Queen of Kings sports a special guest appearance by Misery Signals vocalist Karl Schubach. The album was produced by Gonzalez with the help from Alan Douches of West West Side Music (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Between the Buried and Me) for the final mastering.
Fayne’s hit the stage a few times already this year, supporting well-known bands such as Vanna and Ontario’s own Sleep When You’re Dead. Still, Fayne’s most notable performance in 2014 was a first-ever appearance at electronic dub-step outdoor festival, Valhalla Sound Circus. The excitement of a hardcore band at an electro-fest had the festival’s headlining DJ/producer P0gman injure himself during Fayne’s set. The attention has secured them a spot on the 2015 Valhalla line-up, as well as a chance to support some bigger acts. Short-term goals include touring Eastern Canada and launching their first official music video.
Fayne is back from the dead and ready to deliver chaos to the masses. Stay tuned.
