The band’s released a new music video ‘Dream Pariah’ in support of their debut album ‘Traits of The Sick’ released during November 2013. The album was mastered by Jeff Waters of Annihilator, whom also makes a guest appearance with a guitar solo on the track ‘As Killers Breathe’. Featuring an eclectic mix of thrash, classic metal and rock, the album deals with the idea of humans being human and never willing to be completely satisfied, the debutis now available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and all other major online retailers.
The video is inspired by the dramatic story of a man, approaching the end of his life and trying something new! (hint, hint, breaking bad!)

Winnipeg’s Psychotic Gardening Post New Album Teaser For ‘Hymnosis’; New Music Video ‘Open Casket’ (Death Cover) ft. Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope)

Winnipeg’s death metal troopers Psychotic Gardening have posted a new teaser featuring guitarist Andrew Wiens for their forthcoming album ‘Hymnosis’ set for release on May 13th to follow up 2011’s ‘Humanitorium’ and 2007’s debut ‘Hürdür’. The band returns in 2014 with new material and the return of Chuck Labossiere after he filled in with Broken Hope for tour dates in Europe and Canada. The album features nine heavy hitting assaults sure to bang skulls with itsfull-throttle, go-for-the-throat execution of doom and black metal. In this release the band digs into its death metal roots for a concoction of their most vicious material while still hammering down on doom-laden monster riffs.

The band recently teamed up with NefariousRealm.com for the video premiere of their Death cover ‘Open Casket‘ featuring guest appearances from Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope).
“The Open Casket video really is a stripped down candid look at the recording process in the Psychotic Gardening dungeon. We thought it was in keeping in the spirit with the old school to start out and pay tribute with this song in this way. Of course, we did our dark, doom-laiden spin on it. And it’s really cool these days, getting to collaborate with Chuck Wepfer mailing his stuff in from Chicago and Tim Roth from Regina.” says vocalist Andrew Wiens.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada Announce Edmonton Round Three Winner; One Band To Rule Them All!
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to announce Eye of Horus as winner of Edmonton Round Three. The band will join Quietus and Samandriel at the city semi-final on Wed, May 7 @ Pawn Shop Live (10551 82 Ave NW.) where two bands will move on to compete at the provincial final for Alberta taking place in Calgary on Fri, May 23 @ Dicken’s Pub, (1000 9 Ave SW.). One band from the battle for Alberta will move on to compete at the national final in Toronto, ON on June 7th at Opera House (735 Queen St. E.) where one independent Canadian metal band will be selected to perform at Wacken Open Air 2014 for the international Wacken Metal Battle.

About: Over 100 independent Canadian metal bands have been selected to participate in this year’s Wacken Metal Battle Canada line up in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The bands will compete during the months of March, April and May in 22 qualifying rounds, 6 semi-finals, and an Alberta final along with the national final being held on June 7th in Toronto, ON at Opera House.
One band will be chosen to represent the nation with highest honour at this year’s 2014 international battle at the world’s most prestigious metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany.
The finals will have the following representation and will be judged along with all other rounds by a panel of music industry representatives.
1 finalist from Vancouver, BC
1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off in Alberta final)
2 finalists from Toronto, ON
1 finalist from Montreal, QC
Last year’s battle was witnessed to Toronto, ON’s epic power/death metal band Crimson Shadows not only winning the 2013 Canadian final but conquering the international final and performing in front of thousands unknown to their behemoth sound. (Video of that champion set can be viewed here.) The band joined a list of Canadian heavyweights such as Voivod, Exciter, Razor, Annihilator, Anvil, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, 3 Inches of Bloods, Despised Icon and Danko Jones who have performed at the festival in years past.
Submissions were open from December 5, 2013 to January 31, 2014.
