Ottawa, ON video game rock nerds Double Experience are proud to announce they will be performing at this year’s Canadian Music Week on May 10th in Toronto, ON as part of their Ontario show dates for their ‘Rated M For MaTOUR’.

“We’re excited to take in everything CMW has to offer, considering it’s our first time being a part of the festival. Our goal is to make as many friends as our livers will allow and generally just confirm the stories we’ve heard so much about this festival as emerging Canadian musicians.” comments guitarist Brock Tinsley.

On select tour dates (see below **), fans will be given a ballot upon entry to a DE show. Throughout the night, there will be code words announced before/during each band’s set, and if fans can write down all the code words said that night, they could win the above mentioned prizes at DE’s merch table, where DE will select a winner at random after their set.

Not only is this a cool way to encourage fans to check out the local talent, but DE has always been in the business of delivering the goods to their devoted fans.

But the good times don’t end after that particular show; at the end of tour, DE will draw from one of the qualifying ballots collected over the entire tour and that person will win a free t-shirt! Successfully performing 500+ shows and collecting over 100,000 miles during their multiple tours across Canada, the UK, and once in the States, Double Experience offers a no-frills, no prisoners, no holds-barred live show that has music nerds wanting more.

The band’s upcoming album, ‘721835′ was recorded by fellow science-fiction aficionado Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive) in North Carolina and is a curious collection of songs that demand to be heard. Inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy, this release showcases a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences.

Their 2011 debut album, ‘One Big Quicksand’ was recorded and produced by up-and-comer Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) and was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

“Ever since we completed the new record last summer, we toured extensively overseas and got tons footage for the new single in the process. For this spring tour, we really wanted to focus on our home province of Ontario and visit cities that we haven’t been to in almost a year.
