Spread The Metal Records Signs Israeli Grinders WHORECORE

Canadian indie metal label, Spread The Metal Records is proud to announce its latest signing of Israeli death grinders WHORECORE for the vinyl and digital release of their new album ‘Headless’ this coming fall.
“The Middle East is a largely neglected area of the metal world, and Whorecore has the potential to change that. They live in Israel, right in the middle of things that we’ve only heard stories about. That stuff changes you, and impacts the kind of music you write. Their album is heavy, aggressive, powerful and has a ton of heart. I couldn’t be more proud to be associated with these guys.” comments Matt Day of STM.

About:
Armed with a new line up that’s more aggressive, inspired, dedicated and with years of playing both live and recorded death metal,Whorecore is now gearing up to unleash ‘Headless’ on Canadian label Spread The Metal Records as they plan to burn stages both in and out of Israel and destroy anything in their path.
Forming their brutality in early 2003, Whorecore has evolved over the years as one of Israel’s most respected death grinders and must see live metal acts. Releasing their debut CD entitled ‘Protection’ in 2006, which was recorded independently and then mixed by the all-mighty Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer) at Visceral Sound studios. Whorecore hit the road for their first European tour in April 2006 to share the stage with their childhood death metal hero’s Macabre in Germany, Denmark, Belgium and France along with supportingJungle Rot.
Before parting ways with first vocalist and founding member, Ariel Ron, the band was featured in Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen’s 2007 music documentary ‘Global Metal’, which added to their international recognition. With a need to fill the vocalist vacancy, the band recruited long time friend, Sven De Caluwe of Aborted to join in and on the same spirit of new energies and new found power. They realizedWhorecore was dead and it was time for They:Swarm to be founded.
With a new name and new EP entitled ‘The Mundane Corruption’ recorded at the Israeli ZAZA studios and Mastuldio Studios, again by the band and close friends with mixing done by Jacob Bredahl at Dead Rat Studios in Denmark. The band was able to share the stage with most of Israel’s heavy acts and numerous foreign bands such as Hatebreed, Aborted, Impaled Nazarene, Pungent stench, Entombed, Konkhra, Macabre, Jungle Rot, Leng Tche, Emeth, Ancient along with many more.
In 2009, there were more line-up changes to hit the band with the departure of founding member, lead guitarist, Eran Segal and vocalistSven De Caluwe leaving to focus on his main band Aborted. With this line-up change, the remaining members decided to go back to being ‘Whorecore’ and put an end to the ‘They:Swarm’ period, where they released the single ‘Whore Baby’ recorded and mixed again by the band and long time friend Liron Schaffer of ZAZA studios and was supported by was seen as a controversial music video for its certain depictions of ‘some whores and one fat baby’ as the band describes it.

Canadian Power Thrashers Sanktuary Announce Release Of New Album ‘Something Fierce’ On Spread The Metal Records

L-R: Anders Grasholm – Drums | Cole Hume – Bass | Alan Binger – Vocals, Guitar | Glen Emond – Guitar
Power thrashers Sanktuary are proud to announce they will be unleashing their debut album ‘Something Fierce’ on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 via Canadian metal labelSpread The Metal Records.
Bassist Cole Hume comments:
“This journey has been quite the experience and we are incredibly stoked to unleashSomething Fierce to the masses. So crack a cold one, strap on some clean undies and grab an umbrella ’cause this shit storm’s coming soon to a record store near you.”
Spawning from high school friendship and growing into something much more epic, Sanktuary kicked things off with two back-to-back EPs – 2009′s self-titled release and 2010′s Black Magic Brew – and soon followed that up with a massive move from Whitehorse, Yukon to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
After touring the country following their epic relocation and being faced with a major blow in Toronto that saw their van and nearly all their gear get stolen, Sanktuary turned things around with a third EP in 2011, Tundrastruck (a 3 way split with Black Moor and Metallian), followed by them signing to Spread the Metal Records, which sent them all the way back to Whitehorse to record ‘Something Fierce’.
“Sanktuary was one of the very first bands that I looked at for my label, Spread the Metal Records. They’ve been with me from the beginning and I believe in them so strongly that I’ve never let them go. The way that they’ve matured on this record is nothing short of astonishing.” comments Matthew Day of STM.

Spread The Metal Records Signs DEATHPOINT

One of Canada’s fastest growing indie metal labels, Halifax based Spread The Metal Records is proud to announce the signing of Hamilton, ON’s melodic groove metal band Deathpoint for the release of their new album ‘Sinister’ set to be unleashed later this year. The band recently added vocalist Tom Emmans (Odium) to their line up.
Matt Day of STM Records comments:
“It seems like anyone can get a Nobel Peace Prize nowadays, but getting signed to STM is a different story. You have to earn it. Deathpoint is the proud new addition to STM‘s roster and I’m grateful to be given the chance to stand behind their upcoming full length, Sinister.”
Deathpoint have previously released their 2010 debut album “Fixation” and their 2011 follow up EP “Suffer”. The band has been steadily establishing itself in the Ontario metal scene performing alongside bands such as Divine Heresy, Moonspell, Blackguard, Threat Signal, The Agonist, and The Catalyst.
Deathpoint drummer Mike Labate comments on the signing.
“We are very excited to sign with Spread The Metal records. We’ve put in a lot of hard work into making this record and building our name in and around the greater Hamilton area. Also, it is very exciting to work with a label whose key objective is the advance of the band with only success as the objective. Our plan is to make the label proud, and work together to take Deathpoint to the next level.”
Spread the Metal Records is an artist-oriented label that recognizes the commitment of all those who have signed with them and those who continue to support the label in other ways. A label is only as strong as its artists, and indeed the job of the record label is to create an environment where they can pursue their artistic vision. That means giving straight answers, holding the label accountable, taking responsibility for their mistakes, and recognizing their own limitations. STM believes in every release that they put out and they have more respect for the fans than to expose them to a sub-par album. STM demands the best from themselves, and so they can’t accept any less from the bands that they represent.
