Montreal based solo rock musician Milo McMahon is proud to announce he will be hitting the road at the beginning of March (dates listed below) in support of his latest EP‘Gone Too Long’ released last October to follow up his first release of 2014, the self-produced debut album ‘Big City Hustle’.

“The last 12 months have been a whirlwind, and the reaction to Gone Too Long EP has been amazing. The live show is our bread and butter, so we’re really excited to get back on the road and bring these songs to life.” comments McMahon.

With his infectious stage presence, impressive guitar playing and powerful voice, McMahon has harvested a following of enthusiastic fans from across Canada with two releases in one year. His most recent, the three song EP ‘Gone Too Long’ was produced by Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals) and features performances by Joseph Yarmush of Suuns along with Lisa Iwanycki Moore of Blood & Glass. His debut album, ‘Big City Hustle’ released in March of 2014 explores the dichotomy of the struggle to make it as a successful musician in downtown Toronto along with his second life: that of a tree planter in the wilds of Northern Canada where he spent over two years living in a tent in the Canadian wilderness planting over one million trees.

The youngest of five, Milo was born at home in Dublin, Ireland but relocated to wintry Winnipeg, MB shortly after where he developed a love of all things Canadian: canoeing, hockey and rock n’ roll. Early memories of Guns n’ Roses on the living room hi-fi, Neil Young’s Harvest Moon on long car rides and later, the Red Hot Chili Peppers on repeat on his first Walkman have certainly left an impression on the 27-year-old singer/songwriter, whose refreshing brand of garage rock produces songs that are both musically innovative and lyrically engaging.

“I would have to say that you owe it to yourself to see Milo and his band. It is absolutely a must-see act if you love rock music and want to see an up-and-comer playing the style the way it should be played: with energy and integrity.” – Hot Soupe

“We can feel Milo’s talent in his music, and the energy that his band brings to the act. The vocalist and frontman Milo is definitely a talented singer – he has a very nice and soothing voice, with a wide vocal range. There is definitely a lot of potential to move up for this Montreal musician.” – (Live Review) – The Scene Mag

“The first track, “Gone Too Long”, is both melodic and catchy with some fairly awesome flute playing. The second track, “Come Get Me Eyes”, a little more rock than the first track, is equally as catchy. The guitar and bass, along with the lyrics, really stand out on this track. The last track, “Buyin’ a Truck”, is a fun song about missing somebody. I can see it being a good sing-along tune as well.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“Big City Hustle is definitely one of the more interesting eclectic I’ve heard in a while…. It takes a lot of courage to make a concept album, especially to do one alone, and McMahon grabs the bull by the horns with full-force. This album shows the beginnings of a very promising musical career and should not be overlooked.” – The Scene Mag

“The real star of the night was Milo McMahon, the event‘s second act. After having spent some years in Toronto, he has come to this fine city to establish his base of operations, and this was the debut of his new band. He sang with a passionate wail; his voice harkens back to the style and register of 70s progressive rockers, except with that particular rawness and energy of punk. He does, however, place emphasis on the clarity of his lyrics, so that his wit and overall lyrical skill is not lost in the sound of the music – a definite plus. The fender-on-fender blast of electric guitar was the perfect companion to Milo’s voice, as it filled the venue with an appropriately boastful roar of riffs in the finest rock tradition. It was a great tone that was very effectively dialled-in like an electric guitar should be. His set included a number of real standout tracks, such as “Big City Hustle,” “Celtic Tiger,” and “Don‘t Go To Edmonton To Dance,” as they all contained a wonderful mix of great lyrics and riffs. Personally speaking, I would have to say that you owe it to yourself to see Milo and his band. It is absolutely a must-see act if you love rock music and want to see an up-and-comer playing the style the way it should be played: with energy and integrity.” – Hot Soupe
