Date & Venue Change – Montreal Sept 19th – Kill Matilda – Zombie Apocalypse Canadian Tour

Canadian hard punk rockers Kill Matilda whom are their Zombie Apocalypse tour have announced that due to the cancelation of their September 9th show with Die Mannequin in Montreal at Underworld they will now be performing at Cafe Chaos on September 19th for Manik Monday’s.

Kill Matilda are set to release their debut full-length, I Want Revenge, on October 11th and are on the hunt to find, capture and destroy zombies wreaking havoc across the land – it’s a zombicide mission and no one’s more equipped to carry it out than Kill Matilda.

“This will be our biggest and most ambitious tour to date, in support of our best album to date, and we plan to commit zombicide in every major city across Canada while rocking out, drinking beers and saving beautiful women from the brain-eating living dead from coast to coast,” comments bassist Mykel Exner.

With their most powerful tools in hand – their music and live show – Kill Matilda is ready to set out, so the only question is: Which side are you on?

Vancouver exports Kill Matilda just can’t sit still. In fact, they’ve been touring and moving across our great country of Canada for so long, it’s hard to remember a time when they weren’t on the road. Now, Kill Matilda are gearing up to make an unforgettable stop in Toronto to invade the Hideout (484 Queen St W) as part of the NXNE music festival. Kill Matilda will bring their punk-rock-metal to the stage at 1am on Saturday, June 18th. Joining them on the bill will be: The Goodluck Assembly (9pm), little foot long foot (10pm), Jordan Cook (11pm), The North (12am) and Holy Toledo! (2am).

BAND BIO

You can run all you want, but they’re coming for you Matilda. Montreal-based Vancouver exports Kill Matilda aren’t messing when it comes to their name. After all, they’ve been on their killer journey since 2008.

And if there’s only one other thing they’re serious about, it’s their dynamic self-created genre of punk-rock-metal music. The four adrenaline-infused rock ninjas behind Kill Matilda pride themselves on screaming and thrashing ‘till they can scream and thrash no more. They’ve also been known to blow out the eardrums of audiences across Canada.

The band’s debut, self-titled EP was released in 2009 and followed by their Geisha with a Switchblade EP in August 2010. The release quickly won over fans and critics … but maybe that was just their fear (of replacing Matilda) talking. Think it’s a joke? Who knows?

Back to the music – Combining an indefinable mix of influences and experiences, which go as far as to include classical violin and piano training, Kill Matilda offer up thrashing guitar riffs, pounding rhythms, intelligent lyrics, and snarlingly sweet vocals.
