0 January 11 – Heavy MTL 2012 BOTB – Annihilator’s Jeff Waters Guest Judges Battle To Play MTL’s Most Prestige Metal Fest
As a total of 20 bands have been selected to battle it out for a chance to win two prized spots on the 2012 lineup of the festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau from August 10 to 12. Jeff Waters of Annihilator has been announced as the special guest judge for the first BOTB showcase that will be taking place at one of Montreal’s favourite metal venues Katacombes (1635 St. Laurent).
Note: BOTB showcases will be every second Wednesday of the months leading to Heavy MTL 2012.

0 Dungeonworks & Evenko Announce Battling Bands For Heavy MTL 2012 Stage Contest ENROUTE
A total of 20 bands have been selected to take over Katakombes‘ stage every second Wednesday of the month, starting January 11. Their goal? To win one of two prized spots on the 2012 lineup of Heavy MTL, August 10 to 12!
Ontop of playing on the same bill as some of the most highly regarded musicians in the world at Parc Jean-Drapeau, the contenders will perform for a prestigious panel of judges. A very special guest judge hailing from the international scene will be present at each event.

Dungeonworks & Evenko Present: Heavy MTL Contest ENROUTE – Win Your Place On Montreal’s Best Metal Fest Stage
Montreal’s local concert promoters Dungeonworks and Evenko have teamed up along with Labryinthe, the one stop Metal T-shirt shop and Katacombes, Montreal’s favourite metal venue to present ENROUTE Heavy MTL contest for bands to win a prestigious spot on Canada’s most premier metal festival.
Starting NOW, bands can sign up to win their chance to play this year‘s Heavy MTL at Parc Jean-Drapeau on August 11th & 12th, 2012.
The two winning bands of Heavy MTL 2012 Battle of the Bands will each be offered a spot on the 2012 lineup, as well as tickets to the festival!

Artists have until December 11th, 2011 to register. The selected groups will be announced December 14th at Katakombes (1635 St-Laurent Blvd).
A total of 20 groups will participate in the Heavy MTL 2012 Battle of the Bands competition taking place at Katacombes on the second Wednesday of every month, starting January 11th 2012.
The top five bands selected overall will then face off in a final round to take place at Theatre Corona in June (date TBD), the top two earning a spot on Heavy MTL‘s 2012 lineup.
A prestigious panel of judges, representing the local and international rock and metal scenes will be participating in the selection.

En totalité, 20 groupes seront sélectionnés pour participer à la compétition En route vers Heavy MTL 2012 qui aura lieu aux Katakombes le deuxième mercredi de chaque mois, à compter du 11 janvier 2012.
Les cinq meilleurs groupes sélectionnés dans une ronde finale qui aura lieu au Théâtre Corona à la mi-juin (date á déterminer). Les deux premièers positions se mériteront une place dans la programmation de HEAVY MTL 2012.
Un prestigieux jury représentant la scène rock et métal locale et internationale participera à la sélection des groupes gagnants.
