0 BOLERO Announce Band Name Change To VESPERIA, Release New Demo And Tour Dates

  • May 2, 2012

  • · Blacktooth Entertainment · Bolero · Vesperia

With the new year always come changes and challenges and for Ontario, Canada’s BOLERO, 2012 has already shaped up to be all about transformation and evolution. Out with the old and in with the new.

After several months of deep thinking and more than half a decade of live shows, line-up changes and the constant shake-ups in the music industry, the four musicians behind Bolero decided it was time for a big move – a change in name and mentality. Ladies, gentlemen and metal Vikings, we present to you, VESPERIA.

“This new name means ‘of the land of the evening star’ and the word ‘Vesperia’ was one of the proposed names for Canada before our country’s name was decided upon,” explained Morgan Rider of the chosen name’s origins.

Continuing to derive influences from thrash, black metal and traditional folk music, Vesperia are not leaving their epic orchestrations, throat-crushing speed nor ear-piercing guitar riffs behind, rather, they’re intensifying each element, adding more energy to their live shows just when fans thought they couldn’t get any more amped up and prepping to release their new demo as Vesperia, entitled ‘The Swordsman’.

‘The Swordsman’ can be streamed here:

http://www.facebook.com/VesperiaMetal

In celebration of these momentous changes and of the upcoming release, VESPERIA will be offering fans a free download of a brand new recording off ‘The Swordsman’ every week for the upcoming month.

Converting listeners and critics across the globe into believers and preachers of symphonic Celtic death metal since 2007, it’s clear VESPERIA has no plans of slowing down.

In support of the bands evolution, VESPERIA will be embarking on a string of Ontario dates with warrior brothers CRIMSON SHADOWS.

‘For the Glory of the Swordsman’ Tour Dates:

Feb 18 – Toronto – THE MATADORS w/ Maximum RNR + Rehab for Quitters

Blacktooth Entertainment, in collaboration with Toronto Rockabilly, present a night of good ol’ fashioned punk rock and all-around good times, bringing together The Matadors, Maximum RnR and Rehab for Quitters on February 18 at The Hard Luck Bar (812 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON).

As creators of the horrorbilly genre, The Matadors have been wreaking havoc across Canada since the mid-90s, delivering a live show they describe is “like being in a funhouse that has been set on fire” and who could complain about that?

“Since this is our last year on earth, we urge everyone to bring a helmet to the shows of 2012 due to the fact that each venue will be left in a bloody mess once we blow your fucking minds. It’s considerations like these that make The Matadors the consummate professionals we are… It warms my heart that I have the capacity to be so charitable and magnanimous to allow these bands to pay tribute to The Matadors. Perhaps I will give them all pats on the head when they are kissing my ring right before they sweep up after the show.” – The Great Hooch

Joining the Kings of Horrobilly will be punk rockers Maximum RnR who have no less than two albums and over 300 tour dates behind them, as well as Rehab For Quitters, a band synonymous with, as they put it, “beer swigging good times and good ol’ fashioned rock ‘n’ roll debauchery.”

Feb 11 – Toronto – Crimson Shadows Announce “Glory On The Battlefield” Album Launch Show

It’s an event four years in the making. Now, Blacktooth Entertainment is proud to announce that it’s finally time to get your head ready for banging and dust off those horns as Crimson Shadows get set to release their highly anticipated debut full-length album “Glory On The Battlefield” on Saturday, February 11 at The Hard Luck Bar (772A Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON).

“I’m really happy about releasing this album because so much has gone into it. The speed, technicality, and the sheer brutality are some things that I’m really proud of on this album. We feel that we’ve finally found our own sound and we can bring something unique to the heavy metal table that hasn’t been done before.” commented Crimson Shadows vocalist Jimi Maltais.

Death and power metal are not two genres that are often mixed. In fact, it’s almost unthinkable. But for Toronto, ON-based Crimson Shadows it’s all about ignoring convention and developing new sounds.

Combining the guttural screams and blast beats of death metal with epic guitar harmonies and choruses signature to power metal, Crimson Shadows recorded their mind-shattering debut at Shatterpoint Studios at the end of 2011 and are finally ready to unleash it on the masses.

Quebec’s Kalter, Toronto’s folk metallers Bolero and Burning the Day will be joining Crimson Shadows for a CD release show and party of epic proportions only suitable for a band ballsy enough to fuse death and power metal. Can you handle it?

The death vocals teamed with incredible riffs and solos create the type of energy that is enough to keep us thirsting for more.” – XplosiveMetal.com
