NINJASPY Announce “NO KATA” Tour, Comment On New EP
Vancouver’s NINJASPY, an eclectic trio of brothers that blend influences of metal, ska, grunge, hardcore, reggae, funk, surf and jazz are proud to announce dates for their upcoming “NO KATA TOUR”, which will see them venture across the Canadian provinces, kicking off the tour in Victoria, BC on August 19th and going east to return west on October 7th for a tour wrap up show in Vancouver, BC.
The band will be releasing their new “NO KATA” EP/ graphic novel in the coming fall, a follow up to their highly praised 2007 album “Pi Nature“, produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, RHCP, Mudvayne) and Ben Kaplan (Atreyu, Haste the Day, Shakira) that has sold over 2500 copies both independently and internationally.
“The NO KATA EP is a real game changer for us. Stylistically it stretches the boundaries of our genre mashing moniker, incorporating some of the most outlandish sounds we’ve ever thought up or accidentally stumbled upon in a creative process. It harmoniously weds all the elements of our musical adventures with a picturesque storybook that illustrates all the connections between music, dancing, martial arts and meditation that are the fundamental basis for Ninjaspy. “Ninjaspy no kata” in Japanese tranlates as “movements of Ninjaspy”. This release is the Tao Teh Ching of throwing the skank down.” commented Ninjaspy vocalist/ guitarist Joel Parent.
Over the last few years in promotion of “Pi Nature”, the band has completed several headlining Canadian tours, appeared on The Warped Tour and Taste Of Chaos festivals, and shared the stage with bands like Protest the Hero, Coheed & Cambria, Thursday, Cancer Bats, Grimskunk, Death By Stereo, 3 Inches of Blood, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Brutal Truth, Divinity, Bring Me The Horizon, Neuraxis, Pierce The Veil, Powerman 5000, The Dreadnoughts, & more.
In October 2009, Ninjaspy’s international foothold was strengthened when Zestone Records released “Pi Nature” across Japan and took Ninjaspy across the Pacific to tour Japan with Death By Stereo the following year.
Now the band returns in 2011 with a momentum to grasp audiences with high-energy and free-expression dance pit parties.

Titans Eve got the chance to showcase its homegrown brand of punk-tinged thrash metal. Opening track “Tides of Doom” of the excellent release “The Divine Equal” got the remaining crowd members going with solid energy and rapid fire riffs….The band capped off an excellent night of diverse metal genres that demonstrate some of the best that Van City has to offer.

The epic twelve track album by the St. Albert, AB based band, explores their most extraordinary sound to date. Ranging in themes from the apocalypse (This World In Flames, Rebirth) to drug abuse (Fallen), to religious persecution (Monster Eats The Pilot), to being haunted by the sins of one’s past (The House At The End of The World), All Else Fails delivers a stunning and compelling release of aggressive rich metalcore to the masses.

Bio:
Socially conscious, lyrically poetic, rife with apocalyptic symbolism; All Else Fails is poised to take our world by storm. Playing an aggressively dark blend of Punk, Metal, and Rock, this well established Edmonton based band breaks the traditional ideals of their genre by producing music infused with experimental elements, incorporating Classical music, Electronica influenced synth lines, and spoken word sampling. This is metal for a new audience, one that’s ready for what’s beyond the ordinary.
Their inspired high-energy live show sets them apart from their peers, often drawing comparisons to The Holly Springs Disaster and Killswitch Engage.
The band’s unique sound has won them acclamation and fans from across Canada and around the globe. Using intricate guitar riffs and meaningful lyrics delivered with powerful vocals, they draw their listeners in, and then blast them with full frontal force!
The band has played with major touring acts such as Fear Factory, City of Fire, 3 Inches of Blood, Threat Signal, Decapitated, Suffocation, and Arise & Ruin, as well as earning a spot playing the Ernie Ball stage on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour that featured Bad Religion, Alexisonfire, NOFX, Devil Wears Prada, Underoath, and more.
On the local circuit via their indie label Suicidal Bride Records, All Else Fails frequently shares the stage with some of Canada’s top touring indie acts such as Ninjaspy, Endast, Quartered, Stella, Dead Jesus, Fattooth, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Submerge the Sky, Without Mercy, and more.
AEF have several tours under their belt including a 2009 Cross Canada tour, western Canada in June of 2010, and coast to coast Canadian tour again in September of 2010 which saw them placed on not just one showcase at Indie Week in Toronto, but so impressing organizers of the event that they received an invitation to play a second showcase that week.
2011 is a year full of promise for the band with an aggressive plan to increase touring, building on the wave of new fans that were created on previous tours, as well as new recordings and a music video. All Else Fails will be reaching beyond borders this year, ready to set the world in flames!
