4. Forgotten Forest
5. Fallen King

7. For the King [Free Download]
8. Fortress

10. Hobarth’s Inn

About: Formed in the latter half of 2008, Scythia is a five piece band that combines haunting folk melodies (emphasized by keyboards and oboe) with the driving force of modern progressive metal to form a raw and powerful sound that is their own. Scythia is not your older brother’s metal band. Unless that band had an oboe of death, echoes of thunder, and a knack for writing folk metal tunes.

Taking its name from vocalist/guitarist Dave Khan’s infatuation with a painting of Nordic/Russian warriors riding bears while brandishing swords, Scythia not only “gives the painting musical significance,” but it is also “the name of an ancient empire spanning from the Caucasus through Russia, and even into eastern Scandinavia. The melodies used in our music have a very ancient, sometimes medieval sound, so I wanted to attribute them to an ancient civilization,” says Khan.

Upcoming Show Dates:

September 5, 2011 – Rickshaw Theatre – Vancouver, BC w/ Vreid, Kampfar, Necronomicon

Kill Matilda Announce Zombie Apocalypse Canadian Tour – Look Out Behind You!

Canadian hard punk rockers Kill Matilda are back with a vengeance, but this time it’s not just Matilda they’re after. Releasing their debut full-length, I Want Revenge, on October 11th and hitting the road on their Zombie Apocalypse Tour across Canada, Kill Matilda is on the hunt to find, capture and destroy zombies wreaking havoc across the land – it’s a zombicide mission and no one’s more equipped to carry it out than Kill Matilda.

“This will be our biggest and most ambitious tour to date, in support of our best album to date, and we plan to commit zombicide in every major city across Canada while rocking out, drinking beers and saving beautiful women from the brain-eating living dead from coast to coast,” comments bassist Mykel Exner.

With their most powerful tools in hand – their music and live show – Kill Matilda is ready to set out, so the only question is: Which side are you on?

NINJASPY Post Teaser Video For No Kata Tour

Vancouver’s NINJASPY, a metal fusion of ska, grunge, hardcore, reggae, funk, surf and jazz have posted a new teaser video for their  “NO KATA TOUR” in promotion of their upcoming  “NO KATA” EP/ graphic novel in the coming fall. The EP/ graphic novel is the follow up to their highly praised 2007 album “Pi Nature“, produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, RHCP, Mudvayne) and Ben Kaplan (Atreyu, Haste the Day, Shakira) that has sold over 2500 copies both independently and internationally.

To view the teaser video please visit the following link – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN3rR_vxslY

Over the last few years in promotion of “Pi Nature”, the band has completed several headlining Canadian tours, appeared on The Warped Tour and Taste Of Chaos festivals, and shared the stage with bands like Protest the Hero, Coheed & Cambria, Thursday, Cancer Bats, Grimskunk, Death By Stereo, 3 Inches of Blood, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Brutal Truth, Divinity, Bring Me The Horizon, Neuraxis, Pierce The Veil, Powerman 5000, The Dreadnoughts, & more.

In October 2009, Ninjaspy’s international foothold was strengthened when Zestone Records released “Pi Nature” across Japan and took Ninjaspy across the Pacific to tour Japan with Death By Stereo the following year.

Now the band returns in 2011 with a momentum to grasp audiences with high-energy and free-expression dance pit parties.
