FALLSTAF (Trombone Metal) – Oct 22 – Montreal – Album Launch – “Bastard Sons Of A Pure Breed”

Hiring a hit man can sometimes to be seen as a means to an end, but not for Montreal, QC metallers Fallstaf. With their aggressive tendencies and energetic approach to lay it all out in the mosh pit, these brawlers realized that hiring a hit man with a trombone is the means to fuel the fire and only the beginning of what has become.

On October 22nd at Cafe Chaos, the brass metal brawlers of Fallstaf will be celebrating their upcoming full length album “Bastard Sons Of A Pure Breed” officially being released on October 25, 2011.

Album Stream: http://fallstaf.bandcamp.com/

“We are really looking forward to releasing this album. It started as a jam 3 years ago and next thing you know, it’s a whole album! We are very proud of the work we did these past years.  A bunch of shows, some new friends, our own sound, BRASS METAL. Also, we will be launching 2 new videos for this album, can wait for you to see it. Both produced by David Méliès. Everything will be available soon on our facebook page, reverbnation and itunes. Until then, have a drink on us!!! Long live BRASS METAL” commented bassist Ben Forte.

Forming their own new genre dubbed “Brass Metal”, out of their other more soften music collective North East Bistro. Fallstaf is the angry brother who has melange the trombone assassinations of the hit man with their brand of aggressive / heavy hitting metal that ranges in influences from heavy rock, thrash and hardcore. Expressing their darkest moments from their corner of the world with a creative metal soundscape, Fallstaf is set to release their debut full length  “Bastard Sons of a Pure Breed” on October 25, 2011 and add a new sound to the metal family tree.

The 11 track album of fury is the follow up to Fallstaf’s 2009 EP “The Hitman Plays Trombone” and was self produced by Fallstaf, and mixed and mastered by Kevin Jardine (Slaves on Dope) of Uplift Studios.

Quick Fact: The name Fallstaf is based on the character Falstaff from Shakespeare’s play Henry V. Falllstaf was a Knight more interested in having a good time than being accountable for his knightly duties. He is often seen as a negative influence on young Prince Hal, the future king Henry V.

Vancouver’s NINJASPY, an eclectic trio of brothers that blend influences of metal, ska, grunge, hardcore, reggae, funk, surf and jazz will be throwing down the skank as they return to their hometown for two nights of throwing down the skank for their back to back tour wrap parties.

The band has been on tour since early August in promotion of their upcoming “No Kata” EP / graphic novel and released the first single last month called “Skaingkh (The Skank)”. A term that Ninjaspy uses to encourage having a good time and getting the crowd to dance and head bang like there’s no tomorrow.

Tour Journal Part 1. – http://puregrainaudio.com/features/ninjaspy-exclusive-no-no-kata-tour-journal-1

The band will be releasing their new “NO KATA” EP/ graphic novel in the coming fall, a follow up to their highly praised 2007 album “Pi Nature“, produced by Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, RHCP, Mudvayne) and Ben Kaplan (Atreyu, Haste the Day, Shakira) that has sold over 2500 copies both independently and internationally.

“The NO KATA EP is a real game changer for us. Stylistically it stretches the boundaries of our genre mashing moniker, incorporating some of the most outlandish sounds we’ve ever thought up or accidentally stumbled upon in a creative process. It harmoniously weds all the elements of our musical adventures with a picturesque storybook that illustrates all the connections between music, dancing, martial arts and meditation that are the fundamental basis for Ninjaspy. “Ninjaspy no kata” in Japanese tranlates as “movements of Ninjaspy”. This release is the Tao Teh Ching of throwing the skank down.” commented Ninjaspy vocalist/ guitarist Joel Parent.

Over the last few years in promotion of “Pi Nature”, the band has completed several headlining Canadian tours, appeared on The Warped Tour and Taste Of Chaos festivals, and shared the stage with bands like Protest the Hero, Coheed & Cambria, Thursday, Cancer Bats, Grimskunk, Death By Stereo, 3 Inches of Blood, Set Your Goals, Four Year Strong, Brutal Truth, Divinity, Bring Me The Horizon, Neuraxis, Pierce The Veil, Powerman 5000, The Dreadnoughts, & more.

In October 2009, Ninjaspy’s international foothold was strengthened when Zestone Records released “Pi Nature” across Japan and took Ninjaspy across the Pacific to tour Japan with Death By Stereo the following year.

Now the band returns in 2011 with a momentum to grasp audiences with high-energy and free-expression dance pit parties.

BROKEN RIDE Announce “Wreckless Hearts” Western Canadian Tour

Melodic hard rockers Broken Ride have announced dates for their upcoming “Wreckless Hearts” Western Canadian tour in support of their full length album “Everything Considered” released earlier this year. The album is the follow up to their debut EP “Out of Control”; that was produced by Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk, McMaster & James) and Dale Penner (Nickelback, Loverboy) along with being mastered by Grammy Award-winner Adam Ayan.

Drawing comparisons to Three Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace for their emotion driven lyrics and catchy songwriting. Broken Ride is ready to add another tour to their belt as they have already completed two Canadian tours along with showcasing these last two years at Canadian Music Week in Toronto plus sharing the stage with well known rockers Seether, Econoline Crush, Hail The Villian, Thornley, Armchair Cynics and 54:40.

“We’re very eager to hit the road, it’s just a lil teaser compared to our upcoming 2 month tour in March 2012, but we always love making new fans, and seeing familiar faces. We are really excited to share the songs from the new album Everything Considered and show all our fans how much energy our live show has.” commented vocalist Graham Furber.
