Montreal – June 1 – Party Rockers Dance Laury Dance @ Club Soda

They’re ba-ack! Jaune Prodz is proud to bring Montrealers a night of good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll, thrash and punk when Dance Laury Dance play their first live show of 2012, joined by Die Mannequin and Dirt Cannon, on Friday, June 1 at Club Soda (1225 St. Laurent).

Right from their very first jams in 2007, Dance Laury Dance had a clear objective: to follow the tradition of rock ‘n’ roll in its purest form while developing a unique and distinctive sound. With their long hair, leather and distortion, the heirs to Motörhead, Guns n’ Roses and AC/DC were born, releasing their first independently produced eight-song album, Out of Rockers, which was mixed by Ryan Battistuzzi (Malajube, The Sainte Catherines, We are Wolves) in 2009.

Hitting the road soon after, they gave over 200 performances in less than three years, giving a special concert at the legendary Viper Room in Los Angeles, and opening for Pennywise during 2010’s Vélirium, but to this day, the Dance Laury Dance’s greatest achievement is, without a doubt, having given a solid opening performance for Joe Satriani and Metallica in front of 150,000 people during the most recent edition of the Festival d’été de Québec.

Never ones to take a break, Dance Laury Dance will once again be rocking Montreal to its core with a brand spankin’ new guitarist, performing songs from their latest release, Living For The Roll, along with brand new, never before heard tunes.

“We’ve been off the road since December and we miss the stage as much as we can miss Dimebag, but we did not scratch our asses since then and we wrote a bunch of new songs and found guitar player Savage Phil Lemire to fill up the departure of Dagger Pat. And yes, Montreal, we will show it all to you June 1 at Club Soda! We can’t wait to play loud and party hard,” said vocalist Max Lemire.

Montreal – Vendredi 1er Juin– Dance Laury Dance @ Club Soda

The Sainte Catherines, We Are Wolves).

0 BOLERO Announce Band Name Change To VESPERIA, Release New Demo And Tour Dates

  • May 2, 2012

  • · Blacktooth Entertainment · Bolero · Vesperia

With the new year always come changes and challenges and for Ontario, Canada’s BOLERO, 2012 has already shaped up to be all about transformation and evolution. Out with the old and in with the new.

After several months of deep thinking and more than half a decade of live shows, line-up changes and the constant shake-ups in the music industry, the four musicians behind Bolero decided it was time for a big move – a change in name and mentality. Ladies, gentlemen and metal Vikings, we present to you, VESPERIA.

“This new name means ‘of the land of the evening star’ and the word ‘Vesperia’ was one of the proposed names for Canada before our country’s name was decided upon,” explained Morgan Rider of the chosen name’s origins.

Continuing to derive influences from thrash, black metal and traditional folk music, Vesperia are not leaving their epic orchestrations, throat-crushing speed nor ear-piercing guitar riffs behind, rather, they’re intensifying each element, adding more energy to their live shows just when fans thought they couldn’t get any more amped up and prepping to release their new demo as Vesperia, entitled ‘The Swordsman’.

‘The Swordsman’ can be streamed here:

http://www.facebook.com/VesperiaMetal

In celebration of these momentous changes and of the upcoming release, VESPERIA will be offering fans a free download of a brand new recording off ‘The Swordsman’ every week for the upcoming month.

Converting listeners and critics across the globe into believers and preachers of symphonic Celtic death metal since 2007, it’s clear VESPERIA has no plans of slowing down.

In support of the bands evolution, VESPERIA will be embarking on a string of Ontario dates with warrior brothers CRIMSON SHADOWS.

‘For the Glory of the Swordsman’ Tour Dates:

May 18, 2012 – The Port – Barrie, ON w/ Crimson Shadows, Goliath, The Isosceles Project

June 1, 2012 – The Granite Club – North Bay, ON w/ Crimson Shadows, The Killing Field, Face the Hate, Sign of the Raven

June 8, 2012 – The Corktown Pub – Hamilton, ON w/ Crimson Shadows, Deathmarch

ABOUT: Spread The Metal Fest was inspired by STM Records owner Matt Day, whom previously worked for HSF as a volunteer and decided it was time to give back to the community and help an organization and cause that promotes awareness of heart disease along with financial support.

About: Spread the Metal Records is an artist-oriented label. They recognize the commitment of all those who have signed with them and those who continue to support them in other ways. A label is only as strong as its artists, and indeed the job of the record label is to create an environment where they can pursue their artistic vision. That means giving straight answers, holding themselves accountable, taking responsibility for their mistakes, and recognizing their own limitations. STM believes in every release that they put out and they have more respect for the fans than to expose them to a sub-par album. STM demands the best from themselves, and so they can’t accept any less from the bands that they represent.

Out Today! Electro Alt Rockers The Rabid Whole Release New Album “Refuge”

Electro alt rockers The Rabid Whole – aka Toronto’s 21st century, high-energy, punch-in-the-face-and-leave-you-wanting-more rock band are proud to announce the official release of their brand spankin’ new record, Refuge on Boonsdale Records, out today, Tuesday, May 1st, 2012. The album was produced by Karl Schubach (Misery Signals, Solace), mixed by Dave Ogilvie (Jakalope, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson) and mastered by Noah Mintz (Broken Social Scene, Death From Above 1979) and is now streaming on PureGrainAudio.com and is available for purchase on iTunes here.

“The new album is an obvious shift in direction/sound/subject matter… we have settled more into our own sound and the themes of the album are easy to relate to, the energy is up, the drumming is more intense, the guitars are louder, soft parts are softer and the electronics are much more noticeable,” says vocalist / guitarist Andreas Weiss. “The Rabid Whole is providing an exit, an honest and refreshing alternative to the bullshit we’ve been fed and it’s noticeable. Anyone that hears what we’ve come up with is hopefully going to have a hard time ignoring it.”

Music Video –  “All The Same” from the album Autraumaton (2009) (Synthetic Sounds) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKgx7u9Piqg

About:

There’s something to be said for fate in the music world. One moment you’re left with the skeleton of a band, unsure when you’ll be able to follow your calling again, the next you’ve got a whole new line-up, a brand new home, a stronger, more defined sound and are recording with some of the biggest names in the industry. This is the tale of The Rabid Whole.

Disenchanted with playing in bands whose music was unchallenging and run of the mill, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Andreas Weiss set out to remedy his predicament. Purchasing an arsenal of music and noise-making gadgets, he began writing songs for his own band’s 2009 debut album, Autramaton.

Recruiting musicians along the way, the first incarnation of The Rabid Whole was solidified, releasing their first album and touring Canada, sharing the stage with the likes of The Birthday Massacre, Econoline Crush, Hinder, Apoptygma Berzerk, and 16Volt.

But that’s when things began to take a turn. Following the departure of several band members, Weiss decided to leave his hometown of Regina, SK behind, taking a leap of faith and moving to Toronto, ON along with guitarist and founding member George Radutu.

Through some lucky online ads, he discovered drummer JJ Tartaglia and bass guitarist Oscar Anesetti while a Christmas trip back home to Regina put him face-to-face with Chalsey Noelle, a friend of a friend looking for a new career path after quitting her job. Wouldn’t you know it – Noelle was a talented keyboardist and vocalist.

Now, the new and improved Rabid Whole is set to release their second album, Refuge, on May 1, 2012. A direct reflection of the emotional and external changes of Weiss’ journey, the album deals with relatable themes.

“I sold my house, quit my engineering consultant job and moved…We were starting from square one again, but with more uncertainties than ever and weren’t sure when we would even have a full band again. Part of the writing had begun randomly scattered over the past couple of years, but the majority came right after the move. I set up the studio in the basement of my house and got to work. I didn’t leave the house for two months and wrote from the moment I’d wake up until I’d fall asleep,” says Weiss.

Recorded and produced by Karl Schubach (Misery Signals, Solace), mixed by Dave Ogilvie (Jakalope, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson) and mastered by Noah Mintz (Broken Social Scene, Death From Above 1979), the finished product delivers rock and electronic elements pushed to the max, a male and female vocal showdown and, as Weiss puts it, showcases “a 21st century, high-energy, electro alternative, orgasmic-punch-in-the-face-rock band.”

Isn’t it time you fell down the rabid whole?
