Rocker Matt Blais Announces Western Canadian Dates For ‘The Heartbeat Tour’; New Music Video ‘Goodbye Sunshine’

Calgary, AB alternative blues/ rock musician Matt Blais is proud to announce his upcoming Western Canadian tour dates in support of his newly released album ‘The Heartbeat’, which he toured across Canada earlier this year in promotion of.
Gaining strong comparisons to artists such as Sam Roberts, Matt Mays and Joel Plaskett, Matt Blais’ latest release ‘The Heartbeat’ combines elements of fiery rock and roll with smooth vintage soul to form a sound so uniquely his own that one can’t help but become emotionally charged. The combination of a high energy live show and a passion for song writing is Blais’ formula for success, which thus far has been very well received by critics and the audiences that continue to grow in number.
Matt Blais comments:
“I’ve missed being on the road. I like to think of myself as a musical troubadour, or some kind of old school minstrel. The road is my home, especially the Canadian road. I don’t think there is a better time to tour Canada than in the fall so I’m excited to take my music to any city that will have me!”

Canadian Post-Rockers Jung People Release Latest Video ‘Orient B. / To A Place You Don’t Come Back’ In Support Of Upcoming Album ‘Gold Bristle’

Canadian post-rock group, Jung People have released their latest music video ‘Orient B. / To A Place You Don’t Come Back’ in support of their forthcoming album ‘Gold Bristle’ set for release on October 12th to follow up their EP 2011 EP Tenterhooks. Recorded at Thee Mighty Hotel2Tango studio in Montreal, QC, the album has been described by Jung People as being a concept album entangled with a children’s story written by the band and to be included with every physical copy. The band has also announced the small accompaniment of brass and string players for the future live performances.

The video was directed by Calgary director Doug Cook, known for his projects with bands such as Divinity, Morta Skuld, Orphan Hammer, Truck, Atomis, Mortillery, Walk As Chaos and Control Denied.
Descending from love to dissonance, this unorthodox music video was inspired from a short screenplay written by Doug Cook and Thomas Robert Lee featuring two of Jung People‘s tracks, Orient B from their 2011 EP Tenterhooks and To A Place You Don’t Come Back from their upcoming album Gold Bristle.
The music video depicts the tormented relationship between a father and his son. It tells the story of a man living in anguish after his father’s decision to conduct genetic experiments on him as a newborn. Capturing their journey of regret, anger, forgiveness and faith, the video explores the delicate balance between nature and ethics while Jung People‘s melody rolls in the background.
Cook also utilized the talent of Calgarian Filmmakers, Thomas Robert Lee and Hans Grossmann, who are currently developing a feature film, Empyrean, and Production Designer Bobby Vanonen. Bobby was nominated for an AMPIA award for his work on Burlesque Assassins and has worked on numerous music videos with Cook.
About Jung People: Founded in 2010 by childhood friends Bryan Buss and Jordan Bassi after many punk-rock and metal bands. The music grew to be strongly Anti-Capitalist, Anti-Corporate and Anti-Globalization especially after living in Hollywood, CA while attending The Musicians Institute on Hollywood Boulevard.
The band often states “The school experience at MI showed us more what we did not want to do, than what we wanted to do. We realized who we are and what we stand for immersed in so much of what we weren’t.” But despite the bands inherent punk-rock spirit, the music has often been in contrast with its heavily melodic and positive nature.
Shortly after MI the band released the self recorded “Too Late To Die Young” in early 2011 of which only about 67 CD copies were made.
The band has also asserted itself as being strongly Pro-Animal Libertarian with their self recorded, self released EP in late 2011 entitled “Tenterhooks” dedicated to any and all animals living or have lived with abuse. Only 100 CD copies were made in the first run, but in mid 2012, 300 vinyl copies were pressed with handmade packaging and personalized notes by the band.
Now in 2013, Jung People has toured across Canada and opened up for bands such as Crystal Castles and Olafur Arnold’s along with playing 2013’s SXSW Music festival in Austin, TX and Canadian Music Week in Toronto, ON.
