Wacken Metal Battle Canada champions MUTANK will be performing their first show in Montreal on September 20th supporting Dayglo Abortions since returning from Wacken Open Air.

Mutank performed on July 30th on the WET Stage for the international Wacken Metal Battle after winning the Canadian Metal Battle, which had over 100 Canadian bands compete.

About:
Formed when three Newfoundlanders crossed paths in the Canadian heavy metal capital with Ahmed Saad who hails from the Middle East, the injection of music immediately began to flow through their veins and M.E.C.H. metal was soon born.
“It stands for Middle East Coast Heavy Metal; Our drummer being from the Middle East and the rest of the members being from the east coast of Canada,” explains Stephen Reynolds (bass, vocals). ‘Every single person in this band is a songwriter, so the songs come out with their own feel and develop naturally.’ continues Reynolds. ‘We don’t shackle ourselves to any kind of focused idea, which brings about a sort of honesty in the music not often found in metal.’

Nanaimo, BC six-piece powerhouse THE BODY POLITIC are proud to announce they will performing at this year’s third annual Rain City Throwdown in Vancouver, BC presented by Cariboo Brewing on September 27th at the Rickshaw Theatre.
“Rain City Throwdown will definitely be a highlight of our fall touring season. We’ve been friends with the guys in Take The Earth Beneath Us for a couple of years now, and we’re happy to be a part of their hometown comeback show. Quartered is unleashing their EP to local fans that night as well, which we are really looking forward to. About:
Taking their name from a Clive Barker short story and shifting gears from jazz (which most of the members studied at Vancouver Island University) to progressive metal, the band combine poly-metric grooves, aggressive screams and soaring vocal melodies to push the boundaries of modern metal music with technically impressive musicianship to follow up their 2011 debut album ‘All Too Human’ (also available for free download at the following link http://thebodypolitic.bandcamp.com/). Coming off their recent performance at Armstrong Metalfest 2014, Edmonton, AB’s Death Toll Rising has posted a new video of their entire set for fans plus announce they will be performing a series of Alberta fest dates at Harvesting Hell II (Edmonton, AB) on August 22nd, Lethbridge Dethfest (Coaldale, AB) on August 29th and Loud As Hell Fest (Drumheller, AB) on August 31st.
“Armstrong Metalfest is quickly getting the reputation as one of the best fests in all of Western Canada, and for our second year playing we thought it would be a great idea to have our set shot and edited for an online release. Everybody who was there knows just how rad the whole weekend was, and we had one of the best times playing and hanging out with many of the top bands from the region! This video is just a little taste of what the playing environment is like, and Armstrong Metalfest is growing each year, and will only get bigger and better from here. We look forward to rounding out our summer with a last string of devastating festivals in the end of August!” comments guitarist Drew Copland.

About: Featuring a combination of death and thrash metal, the Edmonton-based band are known to devastate their audiences with their high octane performances that has lead them to share the stage over the years with high profile names such as Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, The Haunted, and Aborted (to name a few).
Originally formed in 2003 in Stony Plain, AB, Canada, the award nominated (Metal Recording of The Year – Edmonton Music Awards 2014) Death Toll Rising have been grinding the Western Canadian metal scene steadily, gaining huge momentum over the last 3 years. New addition Tylor Dory on guitars has introduced a technical and progressive element to the band they have not had in the past. Add in the intense and relentless drumming provided by Bryan Newbury (recently recruited by Canadian prog/death powerhouse INTO ETERNITY), as well as the well-rounded rhythm provided by Drew Copland on guitar and Mike Puff on bass, and you get a monster that is only now being unleashed upon the masses with vocalist Jesse Berube topping things off with a combination of brutal death growls and Tomas Lindberg-esqe high shrieks, which will be plenty noticeable on their new album ‘Infection Legacy’.
