If you like ANY of Edu Falaschi’s previous work, E.V.O should be a day one purchase, if you haven’t already pre-ordered. I can highly recommend this release – it’s a beautiful, well-crafted piece of musical genius, and it’s going to take a crowbar to get this disc out of my CD player

Recognizing the achievements of Calgary’s music community, the YYC Music Awards is proud to host this year’s inaugural event on Sept 25th at Studio Bell in the National Music Centre with MC duties from local comedian Andrew Albert. The awards ceremony will celebrate the wide range of musical talent based in the city and honour artist nominees in 18 categories (listed below).
Doors will be at 7pm with the ceremony beginning at 8:15pm. Tickets for the event are available for purchase online at YYCMusicAwards.com. Ticket price is $39.99 plus service fees.
The YYC Music Awards are founded by music industry veterans Darren Gilbert (producer, Off The T-Can Studio), Shannon Ambrose (The Portal Magazine) & Leanne Harrison (SIN Agency) to celebrate the artists that embrace Calgary at home, entertaining and supporting its arts and culture.

0 Thy Demons Be Scribblin – Fractal Cypher – The Human Paradox
Very 1st Impression when I hit play here was that Fractal Cypher reminded me of Queensryche (Operation Mindcrime era) then as Lost progressed I found myself thinking of Helloween and Savatage. The Queensryche-esque sound stayed the most prevalent throughout the album with hints at the more power metal leanings of Helloween or Savatage. These are all good things in case you’re wondering….damn good album if you’re into progressive hard rock with some power metal leanings.
