What started out as a therapeutic venture, solely worked on during breaks from duo Underground Realroad, has turned into a full-out journey for Montreal rapper Big Bricc.

One which served as inspiration for and was documented on his first-ever solo effort, ‘The Journey Through the Lower City’mixtape.

“The music on this mixtape was conceived through my love for hip-hop and the desire to continue pushing the limits of my creativity,” says Bricc. “I speak of my own personal issues and focus less on the global state of hip-hop.”

Describing his first project without Underground Realroad’s second half, producer Drex, as “fun, lonely and inspiring”, Bricc explains, “The Lower City is a symbol of the Montreal culture and the areas of my upbringing, namely NDG, UPTOWN, the Plateau and the South Shore. The things I have done and the places I have lived have all been a direct influence on my life and music.”

All 16 Journey Through the Lower City tracks are best described with one word, though: Passionate.

The mixtape is now available for FREE DOWNLOAD at www.BigBricc.com.
