Out Today! NEW JACOBIN CLUB 15th Anniversary EP “Left Behind”

Out today, Tuesday, May 22, 2012, Saskatoon, SK punk rock horror band The New Jacobin Club release their 15-year anniversary EP “Left Behind,” that features four songs from the band’s 1990s catalog and is now available as a pay-what-you-want digital purchase and as a limited edition CD with vinyl record sleeve-style packaging at the following location here.

NJC recently kicked off their Western Canadian tour in their hometown of Saskatoon and will be performing in Edmonton, Calgary and Wainwright, AB this coming week with their seven-piece shock rock entourage that includes Mistress Nagini (The Snake Woman) and members of the Angry Teeth Freak Show, such as Raunchy Rabies (the girl with the iron stomach and unbreakable skull).

About EP: “Left Behind” features songs from a studio session where the NJC re-recorded, re-orchestrated and re-envisioned songs from the 1990s. Two of the four songs were chosen because they were staples in the NJC‘s first live sets in 1996 and had never received an official studio treatment or public release. This EP sees the current line-up forge a link to the group’s past while still maintaining their colourful elements of power metal, punk and gothic rock. “Left Behind” will also set the tone for some new material that will be introduced live on stage this May on their Western Canada tour.

About the live show and tour:
Halloween 2011 saw the premiere of the epic and engaging “Moral Adventurers” live show with Mistress Nagini and Rima the Birdgirl providing theatrical accompaniment. Elements of this elaborate event will be taken on the road, along with new musical material not yet heard on stage. As with most of their previous tours, NJC and their entourage put on live shows that are stand alone concepts unto themselves. The “Moral Adventurers” live show is partially based on songs from their as yet unrecorded new full-length and tells the tale of a Victorian Gentlemen’s club whose true purpose is to revel in depraved entertainment while plotting to help bring about the apocalypse.
