Vancouver Rockers Show That You Can Indeed be Versus Nothing
Dave Jaffer

Versus The Nothing: If they weren't from Vancouver, they'd be walking on sunshine, now, wouldn't they?

What’s better? Not getting into a trend that you want to get into at the very beginning, before all of your friends, family members and co-workers, or not getting into said trend at all, and missing all the good times that could have been had?

Before you answer, let us clarify: We’re not talking about frosted tips or crack cocaine, we’re talking about a hard rock band from Vancouver.

(insert long pause)

Okay, now that you’ve dyed your hair and put down your pipe, it might be useful for you to know that the rock band in question is Vancouver Rock City’s Versus The Nothing, who may not be mathematicians but who have already had a pretty good year, and who seem to be building on it by way of their current tour.

The reason we started talking about getting into a trend in the middle instead of the beginning is because Versus The Nothing‘s current tour is just about half over. But it’s long enough (not that length is everything, people…) so that if we add all the upcoming dates it shakes out to a ton of live dates.

We’re tired of writing, so, from a release:

“VTN are currently prepping for their highly anticipated 2011 release of their Black Gloves EP, a follow up to their 2008 Let It All Come Down that saw an astonishing amount of commercial placements with Mazda, Tom Green’s 2009 movie Shred or Be Ridden and  SEGA’s “Soundtrack for Vancouver 2010″ – the Official Video Game of the Olympic Winter Games plus a handful of others that have followed since.”

To get a sense of what that EP may sound like, run, don’t walk, to one or more of the upcoming dates:

Nov 18 – Montreal QC @ Hemisphere Gauche – W/ Shoot Down Order
Nov 19 – London ON @ Norma Jeans – w/guests (19+)
Nov 20 – Cambridge ON @ 515 concert Club – W/ Bobnoxious
